That game was nothing compared to the Chargers-Phins game on Jan. 2, 1982, where we lost 41-38 in OT. Many experts feel it is the greatest playoff game of all-time. I cried my eyes out afterwards.

I also think it was the longest game in NFL history.

Earlier in the 4th Marino just missed Fryar wide open deep and it also looked like Fryar slowed down as well. Then the 32-yard Pass interference inside the 30 yard line. Just 17 seconds left but Miami had all three timeouts left. Why did they not just run the ball and try to get closer for Stoyo instead of the 47-yard attempt? They ran pass patterns and Marino thew twice to Mike Williams of all people.

All the money was on Marino's arm in those days. Running with 17 seconds left was not in their play book. Pete shoulda colulda made that attempt. We will never know what would have happened had he nailed it.
