They seem to think the wildcat is gonna keep rolling w/Ricky and more White

I think they have the story about how the wildcat came to Miami wrong though. I remember it being David Lee bringing it from Arkansas where he ran it with McFadden and Felix Jones and it was called the wildhog. On this clip they claim Henning ran it in Carolina with D.Williams and brought it to Miami.

I can't see the vidoe while I am at work, but it will be interesting to see how it works without Ronnie.

Part of me says that it will work:

-Teams won't prepare for it as much without Ronnie
-Ricky has good vision, and can run it.
-Pat White and maybe even other players get their shot at running it (Ted Ginn?)

Part of me thinks it won't work:

-The beauty of the WC was having 2 great backs, and the confusion that Ricky causes coming into motion. If Ricky is the one calling for the snap, there will not ba a great running back to be the wildcat.
-Ronnie has always been the best at running it.

Who knows?

guys just need to win their battles. if the O-line blocks, it doesn't matter as much who's back there. the panthers run defense is poor and their is no excuse why we should not be able to pound the ball on them.

it will be ricky most of the time and we'll see hilliard in there to give ricky a breather. I'm sure we'll see some Pat White and I keep waiting for him to connect on a big pass play, I know he had the long run against the Pats.

How could they possibly say it came from Carolina? He should be fired.

I think we're gonna run more of a base offense on Thursday. Ricky can run out of the I....but he doesn't seem to run as well out of the wildcat for some reason.

SwimmininIndy that photo you have of the reverse orange and white looks sweet. I was wondering how that would look and imagined it looking awful, but I really like that look.

I imagine they will go with the jumbo wildcat package more often than not.

MANN YOU SAID SOMETHING THEN. TED GINN SHOULD BE IN THE WILDCAT COMING IN MOTION AND ESPECIALLY WITH PAT WHITE IN THE GAME HE CAN GET INTO A ROUTE COMING OUT THE BACK FIELD ALONG WITH TAKING THE PITCH FROM THE OPTION AS WELL AS THE REVERSE!!! WE CANT GIVE UP ON HIM HE CAME OUT EARLY. I LIKE THE WAY HILLIARD RUNS BUT A FUMBLE PRE SEASON LANDED HIM OUT A HERE BRIEFLY. HILLIARD RUNS HARD AND WILL RUN OVER PEOPLE AND THAT KORY SHEETS IS FAST IS A MUTHA!!!

WE NEED TO KEEP THROWING THOSE BACK SHOULDER FADES TO OUR WR, THE ONE BESS CAUGHT THAT LAST DRIVE WAS DAMN NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO DEFEND,:chuckle:!!!!!

I've noticed (following games online) that Ricky has taken the direct snaps off & on.

With Ronnie's injury, Henne's reps should be increased & the Pat White experiment needs to be put on hold.

However, I see no reason you can't run a modified wildcat...Ricky & Henne in the backfield with snaps going to either. Then, Bess would be running the end around.

A couple of years ago when he was in Carolina they ran it. The starting qb was weinke and they direct snapped to d williams almost the whole game. Maybe it wasnt WC but he used the concept there

A lot of teams have done the direct snap from time to time but that alone is not the wildcat.

Ronnie needs the Wildcat as much as the Wildcat needs him. We will actually be perfectly fine without it.
