Hey all
So, just a quick snippet I caught on NFL Total Access this morning, I thought I'd pass it along.
They were talking about Chip Kelly's offensive struggles, how they are last in the league in rushing, and one of the hosts (I forget who) said that he had spoken to some of the former Eagles players. The players told him that Kelly's offense is a lot of smoke and mirrors, that the plays he runs are regular NFL plays but disguised by a lot of shifts and formations. The host seemed to think that the league had figured Kelly out now, and that the trickery with those shifts and formations were no longer effective, leading to the first two opponents' ability to shut down the Eagles running game almost completely. (DeMarco Murray has 19 carries for 11 yards in two games, or something close to that.)
Anyway, I am no X's and O's expert and I'll be the first to admit it, but the first thing that popped into my head was if Lazor and the Dolphins are running an offense similar to Kelly's, and the league has got Kelly figured out, it would be logical to assume they'd have us figured out as well. That would explain why our running game (like the Eagles) has been non-existent, and why two "sub-par" teams were really able to shut our offense down almost completely, or at least to a large extent render us ineffective. I just thought I would post this and see what other people thought.
Have a good one, everybody.
