the west is about to beat eachother up. if we make it, we will sneak in at 6. two west teams will make it

Id love to make it but it's a tough road. All we can hope is the Fins take care of their own business.

There is also another scenario Miami reaches the playoffs that nobody talks about because of how tough and absurd to think about, it actually is, but with the Patriots losing last night, if the Pats lose one more game at least (I know how tough it is to see the Pats lose) and Miami can win out (I know how crazy this is), Miami would be playing the Patriots for the AFC East Title.

Of those two, the tougher one is Miami winning out, because somewhere the Pats will lose another game, and even if both happen, Miami being able to beat a desperate Pats team would be insanely tough, but that scenario still hangs there, and I will be hoping it occurs...The Pats Reign does have to end sometime, what better time then this year.

^^^^ With the Pats losing to Seattle last night, it certainly seems a bit more feasible. Bottom line if we keep winning like this, things will happen and we will end up in the dance.

Exactly, and it would really be fun the rest of the season, if we continue to win, knowing that final Pats game is their waiting and might mean a lot this year.

After the Rams game they have 3 at home and 3 on the road left. Terrible reason why it's "tough" for Miami to do well.

I'm glad the Pats lost at home.

they have 4 road games left @SF @ Den @ NYJ and @Mia

plus only three home games left but vs Rams, Ravens and Jets.

only real games on their schedule that could be a real threat to them would be Denver on the road, Miami IN Miami

I'm hoping the Jets @ home could pull something out but not gonna hold my breath.

No way SF beats NE.
rams in NE shouldn't be a real test.

it's definitely possible that the Dolphins can catch them. but it won't be easy

All comes down to that Denver game I think, and hopefully the Ravens can get them on that Monday nighter.

If the Dolphins win out to the Pats game they won't have to win it to get the playoffs. They'll be assured the WC. no way 11-5 doesn't get them in with a WC. That would mean Oakland,KC, Denver would have to only lose to each other from here on out. Denver still has NE, KC (2), Oak, Tenn. Theres atleast 2 losses in there if not more. Still think 10-6 gets us win, but first things first take care of the two NFC teams and then we can focus on the 5 remaining games.

We need Tennessee to take the South since they have the tie breaker on us. We need San Diego to sweep their remaining AFC West games plus for those teams to lose a few more and beat up on each other and most of all we need to keep winning.

If the Dolphins win out they will make it in as either a wild card or AFC East division champs. I think it will take at least 10 wins to get the last wildcard spot. The AFC West teams will start to beat each other up which hopefully will knock at least one of them out of the last wildcard spot. If the Dolphins can get to 8-4, then they will have the inside track. Must win all 3 remaining home games, must beat the Rams and win the critical matchup in Baltimore. Winning in either Buffalo or New Jersey would make that week 17 matchup vs the Patriots a little less critical.

Lets look at the schedule.

@Rams - winnable
49ers - winnable
@Ravens - winnable
Cardinals - winnable
@Jets - winnable
@Bills - winnable
Patriots - winnable

They are all winnable games. Especially after beating the Chargers in SD. At the beginning of the season I would have thought the Cardinals would be a L but they aren't the same and it's at home for us. The Ravens are no stud team. The 2 hardest games, imo, are the last 2. At Buffalo and you know Rex and his want to play spoiler if they're out of it. Home vs the Pats, lets face it, they're strong and don't want a repeat of last year where they lost the 1 seed.

I HOPE fans don't see this season as "playoffs or failure." In May, most would have been thrilled with 8 wins, much less 9. 9 wins, to me, is a successful season beyond the predictions of most fans. Yeah, a playoff spot would be great, but fans shouldn't paint themselves into the corner of disappointment, if they fail at 9-7.

Agree. I thought 6 to 9 was possible back in June. As the season started, I thought 7 or 8 was practical & realistic.

They overachieved a great deal in Meatball's 1st yr and it set up loft expectations which never met.
