Thought Matt Moore would acquit himself well, but good grief -- the top-notch backup delivered a top-shelf performance, completing 12 of his 18 passes for 236 yards and four touchdowns. Read those numbers again. That's 13.1 yards per attempt, and a touchdown pass every 4.5 attempts. That's called being efficient. With Miami at 9-5, the sixth seed is the Dolphins' spot to lose.

I'll start with http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...rankings-week-16-raiders-rise-broncos-plummet

Please post your relations and any other power rankings you can find.

There are only 5 teams that have more wins than us, and 4 with the same number of wins, yet we are 14th? No bias here.

The media still doesn't believe in Miami. They expect us to lose. They can't figure out why we are winning and especially why we are still firmly in control of our own destiny.

They just didn't expect to be talking about Miami in December.

We beat the Bills this week, we will jump quite a bit, beat the Pats (they will not be sitting many if any starters), and there will be a huge move for Miami from most.

Matt Moore is a great backup, but we are without our starting QB.

We dropped some spots in most of these rankings after Tannehill got hurt.

CBS Sports - 12th

If the playoffs started today, they would be in the party. That's impressive.

ESPN - 14th

Maybe QB Matt Moore should be a starter? In his past 10 starts (dating back to 2011), Moore is 7-3 and has thrown 19 touchdowns to six interceptions. He looks to keep the Dolphins in the playoff hunt at Buffalo on Saturday.

Fox Sports - 10th

The Dolphins still have an uphill climb toward the playoffs with Ryan Tannehill injured, but they didn’t miss a beat against the faltering Jets on Saturday night. Matt Moore played well and the defense stood tall against Bryce Petty. Miami has a solid roster, but losing Tannehill might be too much to overcome.

Forget that, we going to da SUP PA BOWLLLLLLL!!!!!!!! Go Dolphins.

What kills me... Dolphins ranked 14th in ESPN PR's but Steelers, who have the same record and we beat pretty soundly, are 7th. Yeah ok ****heads.

I like this Dolphins team. There's still plenty of work to do to progress. Five Dolphins wins came against the Browns, 49'ers, Jets, and Rams. I'm not dissing the wins, I just think we need to be reasonable. A tougher schedule could've yielded a couple more losses. Where would we be then? 7-7? Sounds like #14 to me, especially now with Tannehill hurt.

We're 9-5 having won 8 of our last 9 ... yet all of the 95 teams and all but one of the 8-6 teams (Houston) are ranked above us. Why? Because we're not a major market and haven't won much in a while. So, I get how he wants to rank the Titans above us ... they beat us ... 10 games ago. I get how he wants to rank the Ravens above us ... they beat us ... and are currently behind the Steelers whom we beat. But come on, this is silly.

Just imagine if the New York Jets had won 8 of their last 9 and were 9-5. The media would be pumping them up as Super Bowl contenders and they'd be in the top 5 of the power rankings. The media are a joke. They are pure entertainment, pandering to their audience, which sadly, includes few Dolphins fans.

Who cares about all that? We're the 6th seed right now and that's the number that really matters

Ozzy rules!!

Meh. people take these things too seriously. all that matters is your W/L and making the playoffs.

I agree with you all. I'm just being a voice of reason. Look, once the playoffs are all done and over, we will be looking toward the offseason and then next season. This topic is not going to go away. Five of our wins came against teams who lost 10 or more games--the definition of a weaker schedule. This team will need to make serious progress if it hopes to win 10 or more games next season, which I think they're up for the task. It's never an easy task, though, and a lot of the current contenders found success quick and early under their new coaches but saw a regression to the mean in their followup season. Part of that is probably attributable to a stronger schedule.

Being ranked anywhere from 10-15 is fair.
