They have to be encouraged by what they saw out of Chad Henne against the Patriots. Now the defense has to learn to cover the tight ends.

Where is the commitment to the run when the Dolphins go three-wides on goal line?

[SIZE=+0]The good news is that Chad Henne looked like a legit NFL starting quarterback against New England. He just picked the wrong night to throw for a career-best 416 yards, more than 100 fewer than New England's Tom Brady. But that Dolphins defense was almost nonexistent at times, and that doesn't bode well for Sunday's home date against the multi-faceted attack the Houston Texans present.

Comment:
Chad Henne played better than expected, and Reggie Bush started to silence some of his critics. But the defense didn't live up to its billing as this team's strong suit. And the "D" doesn't get a break with the Texans coming to town.

Monday night's game went as expected. The Patriots were very, very good and the Dolphins weren't awful. That's about what I expected out of this team.

(From Patriots Rankings comments)
1. Tom Brady and Chad Henne combined to throw for a single-game NFL record of 906 net yards. I'd fully expect Brady to be involved in a record like this, but Henne? Well, Henne actually played pretty well considering how terrible his offensive line was (Richie Incognito seemingly had a billion holds); he was accurate for the most part and showed good command of the offense. He also proved himself as a capable scrambler (59 rushing yards). Henne is so inconsistent, and it's very possible he could regress next week (he was nearly picked off twice, including once in the end zone), but this was definitely a positive sign for Miami.

(From the Actual Miami Commnents)
I already discussed the Patriots-Dolphins game, so here are more Notes from NFL.com GameCenter:

1. "rex is giving sanchiz a foot massage"

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

2. "man dont go in the sand diego radiers room they will ban u"

I wonder how many people are Sand Diego Raiders fans.

3. "Did anyone forget who won the suerbowl last year? cause im afraid alot have, the NEW ORLEAN SAINTS!"

I can't wait until the Sand Diego Raiders and New Orlean Saints play each other

I don't care what the "power rankings" say, we are a good team with talent, and thats the best I've seen henne play.

Most of the comments were spot-on. Henne improved, the defense disappeared, the o-line was questionable and Miami didn't run the ball with any authority when it counts.

I do think some of those rankings are a little low but I get the skepticism. Henne needs to remain consistent and the defense needs to work on their cardio. If Miami beats the Texans they'll probably jump into the low teens on most of those rankings.

If we take care of business in Houston, we'll get a big boost in the rankings. Chad should have another good day against their secondary. Hopefully our D will have a wake-up call and show up this week.

Ah ... the good ole days ... when they laughed about us ONLY 21 Seconds!!

Seriously, still alot of football to play & we'll wind up in the middle of the pack .... whoopee, Three-Peat territory, baby!! Might even get it together, dodge injuries, get a few breaks, etc. ... and do better!!

I've seen some ZANY Rationalizations, but mine is more realistic ....
We have nowhere to go but UP!!

Benny Sapp. one play, one hundred yards in Bradys pocket.

We have averaged in 20's for years now. I think we were still pretty low even when we went to the playoffs a few years ago due to the fact that everyone thought we had a cup cake schedule.

I feel that if the O continues to play at the level it did Monday night and the D shows up we will see us rise quickly.

what i find funny is most of these polls have new england around #2. if we are so bad why should the pats get ranked so high for beating a lowly team? oh i guess its because brady hit welker for a 99 yarder.
