RANK
31

1-3 DOLPHINS
4

The Dolphins looked absolutely abysmal last Thursday night. Other than when blown coverage allowed Kenny Stills to roam free deep for a quick six, Miami didn't do anything well. Ryan Tannehill got sacked by his own guard at one point. It's become so frustrating for the team's fans that I'm getting lobbied to change their ranking ... to No. 32.

RANK
32

0-4 BROWNS
1

Another weird week for the Browns, who lost yet another contest in which they were right there in the fourth quarter, while a team that might be lousier than they are won a game first (see: No. 30). Then there's the ongoing saga of Josh Gordon. Well, on the plus side, another nice day for Terrelle Pryor, who scored again while catching five passes. Wondering if the Patriots are going to come in Sunday and put the new cover sheet on the T.P.S. At any rate, one of these weeks, the Browns are going to come out of a nail-biter with a win. OK, probably not this week.

The funny thing is that in a lot of ways the Browns outplayed us. The number 32 team had to miss 3 fgs to avoid beating us in our home opener.. with their 3rd string QB.. and best defensive player out... It's just so ridiculous.

We are definitely the team that is playing the ugliest brand of football.

We beat the Browns, and we have a win, but that has got to be the weakest win in the NFL this year. I had some hope in our first two losses, we were competitive in tough environments against good teams. But that Browns win was demoralizing. Literally, we got lucky like 3 or 4 times to win an OT game against the worst team in the NFL in our home opener. Not the experience I wanted for our fans first day in Hard Rock Stadium.

Warning. This post is about math equations.

Last night I was bored at work and decided to see if I could get an average rank of the Dolphins power rankings from around the web. Because lets face it power rankings are nothing more than opinions in list form.

Now I am not sure if this is the proper way to do this but I just learned (relearned actually) how to figure the mean in my math class. So to figure out the mean you have to take the total number of values and add them all up. You then take that answer and divide it by the number of values.

So I did a Google search for NFL power rankings. I took the first 8 links and grabbed Miami's ranks from those. Those ranks were as listed:
25
30
23
31
31
31
26

Don't ask me which site is which but the total of all those came up to 221. Now take that answer and divide it by the number of values, in this case it would be number 8. Once you divide that you get 27.625.

So if you round that up the average rank the Dolphins are among the top 8 sites is 28.

Like I said I am not sure if that is the correct way of doing that without doing all 32 teams and seeing where they land but I thought it was fun just to try.

Basic math man. Way to go

the td wasn't a blown coverage...it was manipulation of the deep middle safety with the pump fake of the parker in cut

as for the ranking off of Thursday night I got no issue with it

who really cares about "weak" wins though.

Especially when we can counter with "strong" losses to NE and Seattle.

at the end of the day you are what you are and at 1-3 we are right there with pretty much HALF the NFL.
