NFL Preseason Power Rankings

Nick Saban may have his work cut out for himself, but he already earns an A-plus for delicately managing the Ricky Williams comeback. Now at the very least, the Dolphins should have two strong running backs to give new offensive coordinator Scott Linehan some play-action passes to work with. While coach Saban knows Gus Frerotte or A.J. Feeley will not win a title anytime soon, the offense again has an identity. It's a start.

I like to start at the bottom. No where to go but up.

Not according to the preseason games that I've seen. We're lucky to be ranked at 30...

nah were not lucky thats about where we should be, besides its only pre-season and i dont have any wories that after say week 3 of the regular season that we could be #22-25

Bottom line....

People can be as optimistic or delusional all they want. It doesn't change the fact that we have some major holes. Rebuilding is a process that takes time. There is no magic wand.

Saban may be a great coach, but he is no miracle worker. We have improved only on paper at this point. We'll need to prove our improvements on the field and not on paper.

Some may see my view as non-supportive. The exact opposite is true. If you aren't realistic about your failings, you delude yourself into a false sense of success. Acknowledging and correcting your weaknesses makes a team better. Delusional optimism serves no purpose except for euphoria. You might as well be tokin' with Ricky if that's the sensation you want.

If Ricky was not going to be out for the 1st 4 games, I would say we would win 8 to 10 games. W/O Ricky, we will be lucky to win 6 to 8 games. Our offense will come around late in the season. The O-line will gel, there will be 2 very good Rbs in the backfield and there will be some very good WRs out there. The Defense will do a good job all season. Don't get caught in all the bad Karma about the FINS...we will win some games. Some will be great wins against Buffalo, Jets, and NE. Believe FIN Fans!!!

It could be worse guys...

You could be on the West Coast, wearing red and gold, playing in Gayville USA, across the bay from *******fanville while still being the worst team in the league in the easiest division.

Well said.. The Dolphins will have to prove to the nay-sayers and critics that they are wrong in there assessment. Consistency is the key. Until the offensive line shows that they are cohesive unit with consistency it will be a long, long season.

The guy says stuff like we're improving, yet we stay the same in his poll? come on. Thats all I hear from everyone. The dolphins are doing so much to change, have done so much, and will continue to be better. But theyre still going to suck. Man, im tired of all of these sports announcers and analysts who will change their tune the instant we start doing well.
