NFL Preview: Miami Dolphins

Didn't Houck coach Mcintosh in SD? and didnt people say that Mcintosh was really good in SD? I wonder whats going on between the two.

good read. THe only thing I disagree with is us potentially struggling w/o Bates. His time to leave was past due. Good def coach, but too vanilla. Once we get a few games under our belt and the players really start to "feel" the system, our defense will be better in the long run. I was so sick of Bates' defenses excelling against the poor teams and average teams and doing so poorly and choking against the better teams.

Agree .. He also said " Mcintrye" the guys name is Mcintosh. Jim Bates leaving is a good thing. Nick Saban is the D coordinator of this football team, no doubt. And thats a good thing.

I give us 2 more wins 10-6

well another reporter giving us an 8-8 season...kind of reminds me of the ricky poll. At first only 50% wanted ricky back, and now it is up near 69%...so in a couple of weeks after some preseason games, ill bet there will be atleast one reporter saying miami is going to the playoffs.

Pretty good review. I don't think you will see much more optimistic than that unless they're from miami, or until a few games into the preseason.

I also disagree with missing Bates. He was very good but relied upon individual talent at each position and very vanilla. We now have 40 blitz packages alone!! and Saban apparebtly is always thinking of new coverages. I also feel like we have a lot of depth on defense.

Good read

It is a pretty good review, although, like most fans, I disagree with the Bates thing...He was a good coordinator, but it was time for him to leave. It's ironic how suddenly, now that camp has begun, most of the outsider reporters have us going in the 8-8 area and not lower than that....

But one thing he said that is very true, is that this is the time of year for optimism at every NFL camp....perhaps a special optimism for Fins fans though...

This is as spot on as I have seen in evaluating the team. Especially the point about getting better as the season progresses. Regardless of talent, all these new systems and all these new people, it is going to look sloppy for a few games.

I think this was a fair unbiased preview. Good job.

:yeahthat: Thanks for the link.

Pretty good article. I'm feeling confident that our OLine will be good this year. We have good players and now we have good coaching, so I don't think it will be a weakness. I agree that it'll take some time for this team to come together. Who knows, if we can continue to get better as the season progresses, maybe a good December is coming??
