The NFL salary cap for 2019 has been officially set at $188.2MM, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com (on Twitter). That marks an increase of $11MM from last year’s figure of $177.2MM.

This is the sixth consecutive year in which the cap has gone up at least $10MM per club. It’s a sign of continued success and increased revenue for the league, though the final mark is a bit shy of some projections.

RE: NFL Sets Salary Cap At $188.2mm

Is it me or does that come out to like $3.5 million per roster slot?

well they paying qb to much money. when only 5 should be getting it.

I just did some numbers and by cutting several guys we can clear 53mill in cap space.
Quinn- 12,932
Parker-9,387
Branch-9
Kiko-8,272
Sitton-7
Amendola-6
Larsen-2,541
Kilgore-2,400

that's a total of 57,532
minus 2mill dead money for each Branch and Sitton leave us with 53,532+10,185 that we already had and not we're at 63mill+ in cap space and yes, we'd still have to replace those players but the only two I see that have a chance of staying are Kiko and Amendola but not sure Kiko fit and Amendola's older so we'll see but that's a nice chuck that we can clear.

Not unexpected, and I'm sure the agents of guys like Xavien Howard and Ju'Wuan James were aware of it and happy about it. I doubt this really changes anything, because it's in line with what we expected, maybe a tad higher.

I'm pretty sure Tannehill is a goner too. As for both McDonald and Jones, I think this will be their last year in Miami. Both contracts are very cuttable after 2019.
