NFL Sunday Ticket costs $479 to watch on a Laptop???

I have about a 7 to 10 year old Samsung and they are so slow to respond it is useless. I also have a LG OLED and that thing is pretty quick. I used it as a PC monitor and just stream from the providers site though. On my primary TVs I have a Apple TV 4K and Nvidia Shield Pro.

Meanwhile, directv contract expired with Disney a day ago. No ESPN and a few other stations.
This happened with like NBC or abc last year when the season started.

Such lazy negotiating.

I either received Sunday Ticket discounted or free basically every year I had DirecTV. But with the cost of DirecTV at about $160/month, I was looking at about $2000 in tv service ever BEFORE Sunday Ticket. YouTube.tv is $73/month and the early subscription rate for those that are YouTube subscribers this year was $179 if you subscribed by the middle of May. So YouTube.tv yearly rate + Sunday Ticket checks in at $1055, almost $1000 chapter than DirecTV even before subscribing to Sunday Ticket.
I had Direct TV since the inception of Sunday Ticket. I guess about 30- years. I got one free year in all that time. I'm not saying you are a liar, but from my experience, you did not get it for free.
Each time I called, they never budged on ST. They would make concessions on other choices, like movie channels and discounts on the package I had.
I am a very persuasive person. And I had little success on the Ticket.
Lol, it's literally my industry brotha. I've explained to plenty of clients the same schtick. Use an independent source into your TV, Apple TV, Roku, shield, fire stick, anything. Do not use built ins.
Can you explain this? I have a Sony Bravia and every app I use was either preloaded or I downloaded it.

It's a government/corporate conspiracy.

I got it free almost every year. And I got my Choice + local sports package (like CSN Bay Area type channels) for less than $100/mo. The key, most of the time, is that you have to threaten to quit, to get transferred to the retention department. I figured that out when they wouldn't budge on a discount or free ST once, and I literally was ready to cancel. Then, I never called to negotiate a price. Instead, I'd call in and immediately go to cancellation.

It also helps to always pay your bill on time. They kept calling me a Gold Star customer or somesuch, and when I asked what that was, they said it was because I was a long-time customer that always paid my bill on time. I asked if that was uncommon, and they replied that I'd be surprised.

What would you like explained? You can certainly use the internal apps, but it is not advised. I mentioned a few reasons not to in previous posts.

So what if say, once a year you're late.
And /,Or are they saying people are constantly late and only send the regular monthly pay instead of the hr late charge and still get to keep direct TV?
And then use that against you for some deal you want?

And no, I don't believe you got NFL stuff free every year, no matter what good star or what ever. I only got it once using the retention/I'll quit angle.

I feel like I get most of the games through various streaming services I already have like Paramount+. If my options were $480 or try to get the game through live regional streaming, I'm going to go the streaming route however I can.

I don't care if someone thinks this is some kind of bargain, it's stupid. You basically want one 3-hour game per week, and they want to charge you $480 for that. That's $9.41 per hour (or roughly $28 per Dolphins game).

I don't know how you guys do it. I really don't.
They sent a flyer in the mail telling me what a great a customer I was, they were giving me the ticket for free that year.
That year and only that year.

Are you saying to use only downloaded apps? What's the difference between built in apps and downloaded apps?
Do you delete built in apps and why are they not advised? Since you may have explained this already, can you point me to a link that explains all this?

Use an external source. AppleTV, Nvidia Shield, Roku, Fire stick, etc. that plug into your TV via HDMI. Do not use or download apps onto your TV. Basically like plugging in a cable/satellite box from days past, although these days there are plenty of devices that plug directly into the HDMI port of your TV as a stick (Roku/fire stick). It all depends on your application.

Here you all go. Another little promo:

Bet $5 on FanDuel, get $200 to bet and 3 weeks of Sunday ticket.

Just a heads up guys as I just received a promo code. Here's my strategy until I get word back on my Verizon switch. I don't need to utilize the code until ready.

Watch week 1 elsewhere. Friends, bar, whatever. Week 2 is on Amazon, no need for that. Week 3 is a roll of the dice on network availability for me, so we'll see there. Week 4 is a night game, all good. Week 5 it looks like another friends or bar. Week 6 Bye. Week 7 looks to be the money week to use this 3 week trial. Colts, Cardinals, Bills. Week 10 is a night game. Hopefully at that point Sunday Ticket will be promo'd again for the end of the season.

So $5 spent on FanDuel and having local channels/Amazon gets me to week 11 with only 2 weeks/maybe 3 without coverage. Not too shabby.

I'm sure things have changed but in the past the included Smart TV apps were complete trash. Painfully slow. I have a Samsung in the living room that is about 7-10 years old and the OS on that TV sucks ( still a great picture though ) I have a newer LG in the other room and it's apps are much better. That being said, I use all external devices on my TV's. If you are happy with the way yours works, then ball all means keep using it.

I know that I waited until the checkered flag is about to drop to get the package but I used to have a link that would stream all of the games in every sport for free! Now that that site has been seized by the Dept. of Homeland Security, because they have nothing better to do than seize a sports streaming site, I am forced to sign up for The Ticket. When I went to Youtube's site, however, and saw the price I almost fell out of my chair. Are there any codes or discounts around? Thanks!!
I just recieved an email that allows Vets to get the ticket for $199
