as some of you know (or may not know) i work for Directv-So DTV is actually running a online only NFL ST(sunday ticket) project that has the potential to blow up...especially if you are not a fan or satelite service or fell in love with Fiber optics.....we have one test site this season...so if it does how we expect it to do...we should do a full launch next season so PRAY dolphin fans that it does...i will keep you guys posted

if only it was this season! Well that's good news though...

So are you saying that if it goes good this season then next year non-direct TV customers can just pay for an online pass and be able to watch the games?

thats what its looking like...now there is only one market rolling this season...and depending on how well its going they might go full with it just open it up to some more markets...hopefully its the first and not the latter...but we will see how it goes

I have Directv and up until last yr the NFL season pass.
I stopped renewing because they keep raising the price.
I live in Orlando and only subscribed so that I wouldn't miss the handful of games that conflict with the Jags.
I no longer feels it is worth it.

I bought that package 2 years ago when I was a freshman at University of Pittsburgh. It was called Superfan or something. The Quality SUCKED. It was SO BAD. but at least i got to watch 16 games for only 90 dollars.

I had NFL Sunday Ticket from 1995 until 2006, and turned off the service for the obvious reasons...MIAMI SUCKED! I couldn't handle watching them lose so much.

But then came the 2008 season and I went to a local bar to watch the Finz play. Almost got into 3 fights with Steeler, Raider, and Broncos fans (what a surprise there,) so I decided not to go to the bar anymore.

That left only one option for me, to either get the Ticket or go with Sirius satellite radio. Since I'm old school, listening to games on the radio is not a new thing for me, so I went with the radio.

Will I be happy with that decision? I'll know in a matter of weeks! :)

I had sunday NFL ticket for years with my dad. He finaly got rid of it in 2007 as it got too costly.

I had it for 10 years, got rid of it this year.
There's a DirecTV forum where people write that they have called in and got great discounts on ST, I called and was offered $5 off DVR for 6 months.
I canceled.
That was a joke offer, I spend almost $100 a month for 10 years and that's their offer?
I'll listen to the games on my Sprint phone's NFL Mobile app, which comes included free with my plan.

i understand...this year we did spread it over one more month so it was 6 instead of 5 so it was a little more palatable...and the early special will always cost 270 now unless the men upstairs otherwise say so

It's all about the rep you get. Keep trying. I just called yesterday and got sunday ticket and superfan for 160. That is a fair price IMO so I took them up on it. They also threw in 3 months of showtime for free. I called to cancel my renewal after I saw how much it renewed for.

Sounds good. I plan on getting DirecTV again next year when the place I'll be living at will be facing the south (least I hope so).

I had a good experience with directv and the nfl sunday ticket as far as the product, it just came down to a change in family finances which led me to cancel both. I'd pay for the online sunday ticket service or even a standalone satellite feed with no monthly programming requirement.
