NFL Total Access AFC Predictions

I think you are right that I too hard on him. It is just my take that if he was just a bit better, this team would be in the playoffs. He gives no intellectual advantage on game day. I do not think he is a motivator. I DO think he even keeled which helps during troubled times, but at the same time, when the team needs to dig down for something, it is not there with a leader like Joe.

How does he not give an intellectual advantage? I am not saying you are wrong, but everytime I see you say that you don't really give a reason. Can half time adjustments be better? Sure but does that make him a bad game day coach? In 2 years, I can only really think of 2 games where we had complete duds under Philbin; last week and the Titans game last year.

You talk about the team not having a leader when they need to dig down, but what exactly did they have to do in the wake of BullyGate? Down by double digits against the Pats? Down against the Pats with under 3 minutes left in the 4th same game? Against the Steelers after a pick 6? The end of regulation against the Bengals?

Is Joe Philbin the 2nd coming of Vince Lombardi? No. Does he have weaknesses? Yes. Even if people want to blame Sherman (and I am one of them), Jim Turner, and Jeff Ireland for our offensive struggles, Joe Philbin is the head coach with an offensive background so he should be held accountable for the struggles as well. But I have not seen a consistent reason to say that Joe Philbin is a liability on gameday.

Fair enough. Good retort.

What I mean is that Joe and his staff rarely create a game plan or through its play calling that befuddles an opponent. Strategy-wise, why not move Mike Wallace around? Why not create a run game package that suits the strengths of the linemen currently playing? Why sit on Dion Jordan? How can they not adjust to the blitzing of Buffalo last week?

Bottom line for tomorrow: he is at home, with a better roster and more on the line...lets see how his team performs. Fair?

Much like I said, Philbin has been far from perfect. With Dion Jordan, I don't really think people understand how much not being able to do physical contact until training camp, and even then being limited hurt him. BUT even with only 2 sacks, Jordan has made impact plays. I believe he's had 3-4 pressures that resulted directly into INTs (Jimmy Wilson's against ATL and the pick 6 against Baltimore stick out).

I dunno what to say about the blitzes. I saw Tannehill point out who was blitzing and saw McKinney still whiff. Of course when neither of the tailbacks you use can block worth a damn...

As much as I bash Joe, I will applaud his results if he gets to 9-7. If he somehow gets to the playoffs, I will give him a standing O.

Everybody will, big flippin deal. You're not a fan as much as you are a bore.

This is a soft ****ing team with no guts. How do you let Geno Smith go off on you like that? How?

Pathetic.

Anyone care to defend Joe Philbin today? Anyone?

Come out from your caves.

For all the people that gave me **** for about what it meant to play "loose"....the option pass was it.

reed should have hung em up after last year...he's embarrassed himself hanging on for another season...jets will run the wildcat read op and pistol even miami just has to play it like we did last time...i'm not really all that worried...fill gaps dont be late lbs WHEELER especially and roll protection to the interior rushers and muhammod wilkerson who shifts outside in the nickle...wilkersons sack impact has fallen off the last 6 games after coming out like hell on wheels...

they have a good front 3 and size on the edges but not win pass rushers on the edges...miami should not be rolling protection to one edge or the other...attack the corners specifically hartline on milliner who was flat torched in the last game by hartlines route running and get after the slot corner with rishard mathews who will have a big advantage vs a kyle wilson or one of those other smurf corners...

imo rishard mathews should have a big impact working vertical down the seam and towards the sideline...that's a win option for us that the jets are not gonna be able to compensate for with extra help with clay and wallace on the field

mathews would have done a lot more last week but we didn't have any damn time to let the routes develop

Nice call on Ed Reed "needing to hang them up". Nice call on not needing a FB like Vonta Leach. Mix in a shift key next season.

Clever post.

I called this ****ing game going like it did. Everyone wanted to post stupid pictures of "Debbie Downer" or a "broken record".

Nobody had ideas how to circumvent the advantages the Jets had.

Man you predicted losing to Pittsburgh and New England as well, you're bound to be right sometimes. Congratulations on being right.
