For those who have access to Total Access, S. Sharpe will be breaking down the AFCE tonight...just something to pass some of our time until mini camp..Let's see what he has to say concerning the Phins for the upcoming year.

Thanks for the heads up, but how seriously can we take what he has to say positive or negative?

Just a guess, but he wont say anything we dont already know. 95% of the people on this site know more than he does.

The betting future props all still HEAVILY favor the Pats to win the AFC East.

Last I checked, I think the Phins were 8:5, the Bills were like 8:1, the Jets like 6:1 and the Patriots were like 5:13....which of course in betting terms means if you bet $5 on the Phins you win $8 (on top of the $5 you just laid down), but if you bet $13 on the Patriots you only win $5.

That's a pretty strong favorite right there.

I don't have access to the NFL channel either....for some reason I always think of Mr. Ed when someone brings up Shannon Sharpe's name. Is it S. Sharpe as in Shannon or brother Sterling? I ike Sterling better.

Yes he is, but they didn't do the east as promised this morning, I'm very disappointed, since I sat there and watched the preview this morning, but by the evening, they changed it to AFCW..so I apologize to everyone.:fire:
that's at NFL TV who gave me the wrong ad..

I wonder what the Steelers odds were this time last year?

You DO understand betting odds have absolutely nothing to do with who they think will win, right?? Betting odds are only set to even out bets. People who run gambling sites get their money from getting a 10% rake of what everyone bets IF the same amount of people bet both sides. Therefore they couldn't care less how far the line is off from what they really think, as long as the same amount of people bet both sides. That is what the line is for, is to encourage people to bet the underdog.
Right now the Pats are the trendy pick so all the morons that know nothing about football but want to throw some of their money around on vacation will always pick the hot team. That is why they have to make the line so high in favor of the Pats, b/c if they didn't every moron in the country would throw all their money at them and nobody would bet against them. There would be no way to even there bets.
Point is: don't put too much stock into the betting lines as a way to figure who is gonna be good or not. Believe me they aren't. On the other hand, you CAN sometimes take advantage of a overly adjusted line and make a lot of money from too many people betting one side of a game.
I get so tickled at some of these brain dead announcers who make comments like "wow, what a big upset, there will be a lot of bookies losing a roll of cash tonight". They have no idea how wrong they are. The money is made from the rake not who wins. DUH
