Three of the teams that have yet to win a game - the Chiefs, Miami, and Indianapolis - appear to be front-runners in the race for the first pick of the 2012 draft, most likely Luck, the Stanford quarterback.

DOLPHINS: Chad Henne keeps putting up big numbers, including a career-high 416 yards in the season-opening loss to the Patriots. But his last two performances have been mediocre, and if the Dolphins, as expected, make a coaching change at the end of the season, the new regime is going to want its quarterback of the future.
The Dolphins, who have lost nine of their last 10 home games, could be hard-pressed to come up with many wins and could replicate their 1-15 record of 2007 which was followed by the selection of offensive tackle Jake Long with the first overall pick and Michigan teammate Henne in the second round.
The Dolphins play four of their next five on the road, including a Nov. 6 trip to Kansas City for what could play a role in who gets lucky. The only home game in that stretch is against Denver. And if draft position goes down to the final three weeks of the season, look how Miami finishes: at Buffalo, at New England, home to the Jets.

The Chiefs are particuarily bad this year, but they are in a relatively weak division, so I would imagine they will end up with a win or two at the end. I would imagine the Rams will pick up a few wins, Bradford is too good to slump that badly in his second season and they do play in the weakest division in the NFL. The vikings don't that's a really tough division and they have started badly, difficult to see them improving vastly on what they are now. The Colts are the biggest threat to our chances to be crowned the worst team in the game, for me I don't see a win in that team without Manning at QB, and he'll not be back this year, for sure, they'll also be a big scalp for everyone, no one will take their foot off the gas because of their past history as opposed to their current record.

I think the chiefs are the worst team in football, but I don't think they'll end up with the worst record, it's between the Colts, Vikings and us in that order for me. A couple of one loss teams like the Bengals and the Broncos could also finish with a worse record than us and the chiefs, they've certainly got the potential to do just that. You never know we may have a terrible season but still be out of Luck and also Barkley and even Jones running, picking around 6th or 7th.

The Colts are getting this pick.. they are awful.. and they WILL take Luck... too smart not too.. especially with new rookie salary cap.

I dont think so. Once there third string qb came in there to replace Collins this past game against the Stealers he lit a fire under the Colts. He was making some nice throws. If he stays in and Collins stays out I dont see why we dont have the 1st overall

I'm sorry, were you even watching the game? Curtis Painter threw more bouncing balls than a kid skipping stones on a lake. The guy had 1 good drive then sealed the deal and lost the game. What do you expect when 100% of your reps go to Manning, then Collins. Indie may win one or two. But we should win more than that.

I like our chances, this team will not stop quitting. Even when the other team tries to interfere with our losing ways by giving us horsecoller grabs and putting us on the 47 yardline the team will dig deep and find a way to suck for luck.

Hey he got the game to 20-20, not his fault the D fell flat. I watched the first quarter with Collins and he was the one that was bouncin balls all over the place that I saw and then I came in late 3rd-4th and i liked what I saw from the kid. The team came around him

im gonna be so pissed if we miss out on luck. but im not gonna hold my breath. the only thing that could make me forget about a 1 or 2 win season is landing luck

It would be a beautiful thing. But were not getting Andrew Luck.

Can you imagine if we get the number one spot, draft him, then end up trading him for a bunch of picks and players like what happend with Rivers/ Manning deal. I hope it DOESNT happen Im just thinking that move would but Dolphin fans in complete shock.

thats funny.

I just happened to check out espn radio today just when they were talking to kirk herbstreit or whatever his name is and was asked specifically about teams sucking for luck and is luck everything he is talked up to be.

Kirk basically said he is a cincy fan and he basically wishes his team would suck for luck all out. Luck is everything that is cracked up to be and has all the assets but is very mature and reads defenses so well.

Sucking for Luck maybe not so bad after all.

so we shouldnt hear much complaining about losses right? I mean, you have to look at the bright side of things. This is the bright side of things apparently. Maybe Ireland got columbo just for this reason.

You guys do realize that the Colts play in the same division as the Jags right? They should win 1 of those 2 games. The Chiefs play in the same division as Denver. At least 1 win for them there too. I'm not saying it is going to happen but Fins definitely play in the hardest division of all winless teams

oh man, if this is the case and it comes down to these three, we should have it in the bag!

anybody realize the amount of money the colts just put into manning last year? manning has a whole bunch of big time ball left in him and unless a set of dr's tell the colts manning has thrown his last ball, luck is not going to be their pick. that would be WAY, WAY to much money at one position, theres kazillions in manning and then paying luck as the 1st or second over all pic? nope.

the chiefs just put in big money and gave up hi pics for cassell. and cassell isnt the problem for the chiefs at all. they need a supporting cast for him. if anything, they trade for a bunch more pics.

miami. hmmmmm........., well, we all know the wacky arse things that happen with this team as of the last ten years or so. the no brainer should be luck. thats how you draft, you take the best, most valuable player on the board and that, more than likely will be luck when we draft. henne can throw, he can make all the throws and well. but he cant put a game away. when the big play is needed, 9 out of 10 times he will throw the pic [as we saw in the cleveland game] or an incompletion. he is probably the worst RED ZONE qb i have ever seen. he is getting chunks of yards this year [thanx to the open scheme] but when the field gets short, you have to make instant decisions with the ball and thats where he faulters. and we cant have that if we want championships.

if ireland is back, i am 95% certain he will not be drafting luck. it will be o-line and d-line. if we are in the top 3 pics, he will trade to get more line pics [he is still under bill parcells brain wash of build with the lines first and keep drafting them after that philosophy]. he loves henne also so getting luck just wont happen.

if we get a new gm, 99.8% sure luck will be our pic if we have the first choice or the team in front of us dont trade out and some other team takes him.

the dolphins have to get away from all these archaic philosophys that have plagued them. they need to get back to sensible drafting, taking the big talent when its in your lap and not letting it go for more lunch pale types. and they need to stop finding every excuse in the world to NOT bring in franchise type qb's!! we have done that now about 7 times in the last 10 years and look at the damage it has done to our team. look at all the success the teams who took those qb's are having.

if we have a new gm and we are in the top 3 with us, the colts and chiefs, we get andrew luck.

with all due respect... who in the hell are we going to beat?
