I know that a lot of us (including myself) use Scott Wright's website nfldraftcountdown.com for pre and post draft information. I am almost completely in agreement with Wright's initial analysis of our first three draft picks.
At 25, he says Vontae Davis on talent alone is a top 10 talent, but he has constantly clashed with coaches and he has serious attitude problems. Because of that he is a boom or bust type prospect.
At 44, Wright simply states that Pat White better play some serious wide-out for us or that was a big reach early in the second.
At 56, he likes our pick of Sean Smith.

Thoughts?

I love the Pat White pick. White alone in the wildcat will be such an immediate impact in yards and points it makes it worth it. just think about what we did to the patriots in week 3, but now on a more consistent basis.

I think we are about to see a really interesting offense about to be unleashed and hopefully we can win the division again . if these guys turn out to be bust then the Tuna and company will just another wanny like gm in disguised.
hopefuly these guys will make a positive imact and the drafting of White means that White tosses the ball to Pennington and then chad throws to Fasano and Fasano bulldozes his way into the endzone.

I totally agree with draftcountdown. I hate to say it but i kinda of agree with Mel Kiper that the success of this draft depends on how good White turns out for us (I feel dirty admitting that i agree w/ him).

I think the Dolphins upgraded their secondary significantly and that alone is worth the draft. Pat White is gravy for the offense and give them a potential weapon that fits with what they want to do. I like the pick. We will not be able to judge the fins draft just on just this season, they have a murderous schedule coming up but they will put an interesting young team on the field that will continue to grow.

I think you're looking for other opinions on the draft that match what you think b/c in some bizarre way it makes you feel like you know what it is you're speaking about.

Scott Wright, Mayock, Kiper, Peter King, Berman, Eisen, name them all and it still won't matter what they say.

I think they knew (or hoped) they would get Sean Smith a little later than 44 so they wanted a serious playmaker (or someone to keep opposing defenses honest) for the wildcat. I don't want to say they treated it as a luxury pick but they obviously wanted him and maybe had info that another team was looking at White too.

My opinion is that Pat White will play more snaps this year than Henne does this year and last year combined.

I guess Henne must have been a wasted pick, then.

Ahh no, it means Henne is still learning behind Pennington.

unless u were being sarcastic.

Yes, I'm being sarcastic.

Personally I don't see it as a Henne v. White thing. I see as 2009's version of Woodstrock.

I'm trying to prove that I'm being objective in my thoughts and not just blindly supporting the moves of the organization. I think that it's important to use that stuff that's inside that space between your ears. I guess I'm in the minority there.

I think if we didn't take White then the Broncos, Browns, or Vikings would have since all have questions at QB and White is arguably the third or fourth best QB in the draft. Remember, no QB was taken in the second round except White. Usually there are one or two.
