nfldraftcountdown updates their mock ...

i am starting to go twoards long more then dorsey.

I was pro Dorsey for awhile. But I'm swaying over to Chris Long.

In any case id be happy with either or.

I'm definitely pro Chris Long. But if Jake Long impresses in his workouts and shows he has the ability to be a good LT, he could also be in the mix.

I'll say it. "Signability." All things being equal (draft grades), if we stay at #1 we can negotiate before the draft. It's leverage we should use. We need a protracted holdout like a hole in the head.

Wayne looooves protracted holdouts.

Since the Pats lost their first round pick and now our 2nd rounder is basically #32 or what would be the last pick in the first round, do you think the player that is drafted there will have his agent negotiate as if he was a first rounder? IF so that could lead to a hold out.

I wish I could say that that wasn't going to happen...but who knows. I guess the real question is historically has there been a steep dropoff in the amount paid to the last pick in the first round and the first pick in the second?

Agree 100%. If we do not trade out of the pick, we need to do what the Texans did with Mario Williams. We need to negotiate with our top 2-3 players and get it done before the draft.

I couldn't agree more. If we're on the fence about Long/Long/Dorsey, let's just negotiate with all three, and see which one is the most reasonable to sign. Not necessarily the cheapest, but if Dorsey's agent wants the moon, we'll just go to one of the Long's.
