The NFL Players Association is concerned that the Patriots and Dolphins violated the Collective Bargaining Agreement while putting together the recent trade of receiver Wes Welker and has asked the NFL Management Council for an explanation, according to a source.

"They may have violated the CBA rule that says one club can't offer the player's former team anything that would [sway] that team from matching their offer," the source said. "Anti-collusion [rule], that's another thing that may come into play."

I don't want to give back the two picks! Can't we just let this sleeping dog lie?

Tell them we really wanted a first and second, then give them back the 7th!:rolleyes2

maybe they should be investigating into Briggs and his holdout due to a franchise tag, instead of wasting time on a win win solution. The franchise tag was accepted by the NFLPA as an allowed process and as such its players should be held to upkeep it and report to camp, and if they don't the union should punish its members.

Updating a previous item, <A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/164">Mike Reiss, of the Boston Globe, reports Carl Francis, the director of communications from the NFL Players Association, said the NFLPA is not seeking a review of the trade between the Miami Dolphins and the New England Patriots involving WR Wes Welker. Francis said the NFLPA is not concerned that the collective bargaining agreement was violated and that the association only sent a letter of inquiry to the management council seeking details of the contract signed by Welker.
