Nice analysis of Marc Colombo

Columbo is a good sign. Carey has dropped off from his big payday. He got to be a little lazy. Columbo offers a different attitude and he is certainly better than any thing on second string. If healthy, he is equal to Carey at this point. He is big and nasty. Excellent depth.

Has this front office learned anything from the Grove and Smiley "era"
 
The only issue I have with this FO is that they continually pick up players with injury history, and generally severe injuries. They did that with Smiley, Groves and others. When these players are healthy they are pretty good backups - and that is all that is expected of Colombo, but Smiley & Groves were really expected to start and stay starters. then they got re-injured, and the rest is history.

As the light shines brighter now that the worthless POS Parcells is gone, I am on the fence with JT as well. It's hard to be pissed when he was obviously treated like Dog ****.
 
I like Columbo as a competition for Carey or for general depth, but signing him as a starter could backfire in a big way.
 
Henne sucks... is what goes through my mind every now and again...
 
He's solid when healthy so let's not claim he sucks right away and write him off.
 
Living in dallas.... I listen to sports talk radio everynow and then. I wasn't supprised to hear them talking about the dolphins always picking up the cowboys trash. It's so funny to hear someone else other then people on hear trash this FO too.
 
colombo has something to prove and he looks like if he's fully healed he can be a great tackle for us. lets hope he comes out swining this season.
 
I hesitate to completely assume that a career of injuries have caught up to him because I feel that he played on 1 leg for the entire season out of sheer toughness and dedication to his team. However... if Colombo is going to continue his NFL career, he has to convince those watching his work that his drop-off this season was because his left leg was never fixed properly and not the reality that he is now in his 30's and wear and tear has taken away his gifts.

In other words, it's a gamble. He might be through, or might still be a pretty good tackle. Good signing, although I don't like depending on this kind of player.

To be perfectly accurate, people who say he sucks don't know anything. People who say he sucked last year, on the other hand, are right on the money.
 
I really hope Columbo comes in and plays a great RT with Carey grading the road at guard, I just don't see any evidence to suggest that this will happen.
 
Well I am very glad V Carey stayed even if he too ended the season on IR sounds like he played better than Columbo
