Hey man ya never know. If he's still that big and still runs in the 4.35 range like he did at the JUCO combine, then he fits right into that category of a Marques Colston in terms of being a guy that's just physically superior and bigger than most people out there so things are naturally slower to him and easier.

I think when pads come on, he'll tend to disappear. But, we'll see. Could be the total opposite.

I read that and am really pulling for David. I know that he is raw (in that he hasn't played alot) but I think that if we put him on the PS someone else will pick him up. I know that we have to wait and see just how he does playing against the vets. I have him picked as our 5th WR. Git 'er done David.

wow that dude is tallest wr in Fins team. could beat up all midget cornerbacker lol

I would love for this kid to turn out to be our version of Colston, but he will probably end up on the PS. All we can do and see if he keeps impressing, but my feeling is he has a good chance at that 5th reciever spot if he shows up....

I think the key with Sutton is that we have to see someone else really impress as a WR too (Ginn, Az-Hakim) at least enough to make Cam-Mule think that Marty Booker is expendable. Otherwise, I see him on the PS at the start of the season...

Charlie Collins thinks Sutton could be a bigger version of Chad Johnson? That is some high praise for someone who has so little experience at the position.

The article did explain Sutton's lack of production at UTEP.
Collins said Sutton didn't seem to really care until his career at UTEP wound down.

And here's another:

If he can stick around long enough to really learn the game, maybe he can be a real threat to opposing defenses.

I think Terry Robiskie agrees with you

"David brings us size, a big body and big target for the quarterback," Robiskie said. "With those big, long arms, balls that are out of reach for another guy, he can reach up and pluck it. ... Not having played a lot of football is another asset. He's starting from scratch and doesn't have all those bad habits other guys develop all those years."

and I like how his mentor and godfather, Charlie Collins, thinks.
"He wants to be my next Chad Johnson," Collins said. "Every day after practice he calls me and I jump on his butt and tell him to make a play every day, come off the ball and attack. I don't care if you're wrong, but be wrong at full speed and be full speed attacking. He's like an acrobat waiting to happen."

how about the Reed guy forgot his fist name, i have heard he is been doing good also.

His name is Kerry Reed and I have read the same thing although if it came down to Sam, Sutton and Reed for the fifth receiver spot I would prefer Sutton for the following reasons:

1. Way more upside being that he has ALL of the physical tools..even though is still a bit immature when it comes to understanding the game of football.

2. I envision Wes Welker reincarnated where we manage a few draft picks out of a role player in the future.

3. He is persistant. Nobody gave the kid a chance but he constantly hounded coaches to train him and people to give him a look.

4. Even though its only been mini camp and rookie camp....haven't heard a bad report on the guy!

5. He is HUGE....6'6'' and 222....If this guy can get accustomed to the NFL and gain a little bit more football knowledge we could have the best receiving core in the NFL with Hagan, Ginn and Sutton in a few years, not to mention possibly dealing Chambers! That young receiving core would have ALOT of potential!

Just my opinion.

I don't think he'll make the team this year, but after one season in the PS, he should be even better.

Yikes this guy is really getting pumped up by the media. I hope he doesn't disappear when the pads come on, but honestly that's what I'm kind of expecting.

Hope not...But he will most likely have some growing pains which is expected
