Top impact additions
Daunte Culpepper, Miami
Why this will work: Culpepper is an elite talent and the Dolphins are a quarterback away from being an elite team. Culpepper will get good coaching in Miami and has a young, balanced team behind him. This can pay dividends right away.
Danger zone: Culpepper has to prove he is healthy enough to contribute right away. Culpepper has made great strides in the offseason, coming back from a catastrophic knee injury he suffered last season while with Minnesota. But, the big man must show he has the same mobility that he had before his injury.
How far can this relationship go? All the way to the Super Bowl  and beyond. Nick Saban is building something special in Miami. At age 29, Culpepper can be part of it for the next several years.

Bottom impact additions
Drew Brees, New Orleans
Why this won't work: Brees is coming off a serious shoulder injury and it not known if he is completely healthy or if he will ever be. Even some Saints officials have conceded it’s a gamble. This franchise can’t afford gambles. Plus, Brees thrived in San Diego because he had a great supporting cast. Yes, Reggie Bush will be great. But there is little else to help Brees.
Silver lining: Brees is a gamer and a hard worker. He will try to make this work. This is not the type of player who will take his big free-agent money and cash in.

Well before we took Daunte I wanted Brees because he wouldn't have cost us a DP but we also didn't know Brees failed our team physical till after the fact. Brees's injury is more important then Daunte's for obvious reasons, I'm glad we have Daunte now and If I knew then what I know now, I would have chosen Daunte over Brees's even though we had to give up a DP. I hope things work out for Brees, I think he's a good QB, but his injury problems could be the same as Pennington. I think thats why Saban went with Culpepper in the end.

I was leaning towards the Brees as well. But, what the hell? 2nd round pick for a pro-bowl QB: Brilliant!
