Should put an end to the internet rumors that he was scouting for a coaches job. I even heard one that he may go the Chiefs and work for his son in law.

It also explains the lack of commitment which is understandable, especially with todays media and fans.

In my mind, he is going nowhere until he rides into the sunset of retirement.

this is what i like....His desire is to remain in his present role, continuing to mentor head coach Sparano and General Manager Jeff Ireland, his two hires.....doing what he promised his mentors in his early years...

Until the 30 days expire or he gets a new deal, the rumors and speculation will not stop. There will be daily stories by Mike Florio at PFT(just saw he even wrote an article on it at SN) until the 30 days end.

I find it funny that PFT has had like 3-4 Tuna stories in the past 24 hours and not one story mentioning that Jake Long, the number one overall pick, was just selected to the Pro Bowl. I saw a Kerry Collins Pro Bowl story, but no Jake Long. I guess he likes negative Dolphins stories like the Tuna ones he posts better than positive Dolphins stories like the Long one.

F**K Mike Florio. Seriously, like Tuna would rather stand on the sidelines at his age and answer to his son-in-law....instead of being the boss over his hand picked GM in Miami. Florio is just trying to get a reaction.

It's good to see Parcells and Sparano watching these practices.

They just showed him talking with Sean Payton.

But agreed, the rumors and speculations will not stop until the end of the 30 days. Quite honestly, no matter how many times each party says it, I won't be truly comfortable until the 30 days is up and Parcells is still with the team. I have faith in Ireland and Sparano, but Parcells just adds that much more to it.

From what I can piece together, apparently Florio's vendetta against anything Parcells goes back several years and is somehow connected to his wife Michelle. (Or so I hear).

The funniest thing about Florio that I have read is his wikipedia which states that his site is known around the internet for its erroneous reporting and that he worked at espn.com for a week before profootballtalk.com...

nice credibility.

Unfortunately many, if not most here, have never had the pleasure to experience Bills pressers.

A few lines from the article all say the SAME thing.

When asked why he wouldn't outright commit to staying with the franchise, pledging that he won't exercise the 30-day clause, Parcells explained that life's experiences have taught him never to rule anything out.

Think Jerry Jones the GM meddler.:shakeno:

According to Parcells, he's presently comfortable with the direction the Dolphins are headed under Ross.

IOW, Ross promised to leave him(the F*** alone) to do his job.:err:

Earlier in his career Parcells made a promise to Chuck Noll, Tom Landry and Al Davis that he'd mentor young coaches and executives just as each mentored him, and that's what he committed to doing at this stage in his career, as long as he remains comfortable with the Dolphins.

Replace "Dolphins" with Ross.:D

This whole article can be summed up in one sentence.

If Ross keeps his word and doesn't morph into JJ Bill will be happy to stay.

But don't bet that thirty day clause hasn't been modified.
