Sparano is 5-0 in December as Dolphins head Coach.
Nice to see that we win in December, where it counts. It all counts, but we are finishing my friends

Allowed something like 16.2 points per game and have created 11 turnovers on defense during that span as well. It should be more like 12 turnovers if you count turnover-on-downs, which I'm not sure the original stat did.

You're making me excited. Win or lose, it's going to be an exciting month of football.

I have another stat... 170 points allowed in the 4th quarter made the Dolphins defense the worst in the 4th quarter before December. 0 Points allowed in the 4th quarter in December ranks them first.

After starting 0-3 I would have never thought we would be 6-6 and still fighting for a spot on the playoffs. Especially with Pennington, Ferguson, Cobbs, Ronnie & Will Allen all going down. Even if we dont make the playoffs our young guys are stepping up and the future is looking bright.

Yeah. Was there any actual reason for our defense sucking so bad in the fourth. Or was it pretty much that we have several young starters on defense. Nevertheless, it seemed as if it was our pass rush which disappeared, and our D-line is stacked with vets...

Whatever the case is, I hope the problem is fixed and we never give up a fourth quarter point again.

I think it is youth at certain positions, especially corners. We just start slow under Sparano. We need to turn the corner and play a complete season. But if there are any months to play your best football it is December and January. I guess we have a trend. Hold serve and chug along until late November then flip the switch. We are not goint to get homefiled advantage or get to a SB likely with that trend. We are not complete yet but we are getting there. I want to see this team after two more drafts. 2011 can end up being super special.

I bet the slow start has a lot to do with how many new/rookie starters and players he has had to bring in. They were 1-15, and he had to basicly replace the entire team over 2 seasons. With that many changes the players need to gell, and get used to each other. We have the core parts of our team now, so there should not be such drastic changes next season, and can possibly start off better.

MY favorite stat of the Sporano era. How many times have we seen team jump out the gate only to stink towards the end of the season. Dallas comes to mind right away. They always say that playing well (peaking) in December is one of the keys to NFL success. Now I know Arizona didn't do well in that aspect last year, but that was b/c they were resting everyone pretty much after week 10 cuz they locked up the division. Playing well towards the end of the season makes or breaks your season.
