I'm sure most of you have read the front page of the site and noticed players like Schulters, Holliday, Carter and Traylor all said they want to be with Miami in the future. Do you think this has more to do with their ages (the fact they don't feel like moving around and learning new systems) or their belief in what Saban is doing and that they do have a shot at a Championship within the next few years? Although I think Traylor has maybe 1-2 years left.

well, not that they don't want to be here next year, but most players will say they want to stay with their current team through the next season

As fans we can see that the team is heading in the right direction, can you imagine what the players see. If I was part of a team that looked like it was heading for greatness, I know I would want to stay. All NFL players aspire to win the SB. If I had a chance to end my NFL career on a high note, I would want to stay. Saban is a winner. The guy has never coached a team to a losing record, so it's not a matter of if, but when he will lead us to the SB.

I hope we keep all these guys.

A little of both.

I think it's both, but then you can always make the case that if the players didn't think this team was going anywhere soon, they'd want to go where they think they'd have a better shot to get a ring before they retire. And that's exactly the opposite of Carter's thinking as portrayed by his quote.

If we were the 49ers or Cards they probably wouldn't be looking to stay for the future. The great thing about these players wanting to stay is that the ones saying they want to stay have all been in other systems at the pro level on some pretty good teams. To me this means they know what success looks like and from what I gather, they see this team heading down that same path. Talk about a vote of confidence for the fans of the Dolphins. If you can't read between the lines, it's because you haven't seen players in a system thats built to succeed since the early 80's. I say pay close attention to the next several years, Saban will have this team close to the top of the league. I'm not going to predict a SB team, but I will say one of the top teams in the league. A team that rasies eyebrows every time they are talked about. Relax and enjoy the ride.

i'm sure most players on the niners and cardinals would say they want to stay on the team the following year if a reporter asked them

I hope we keep Traylor..he's been kind of like those glades plug-in that scent your whole house..well this guy is a plug that opens holes for players. Even if it means dropping him to the secondary..I think Vickerson and Manny will battle for starting spots next year..

Why???Denny Green is trying to get his contract bought out form a second team in a row. Where are they headed without a HC?? You can have all the talent in the world, but in the wrong system it's useless. As for the 49ers, do you see them doing anything special anytime soon?? They took Alex Smith and IMO that was a huge mistake. I never thought Smith was anything special
Peterson wants out, and the Miami could very well be his next destination. I'd say things in Miami are worlds away from Arizona or San Fran.

I don't see us retaining Shulterz unless he takes 900k-1 million a year. He's probably looking from anywhere between 2-3 million bucks...that would be too costy..Anyone else thinks Tavarez Tillman can start next year? This secondary has gotten a lot better..as the team goes the secondary goes...Can't wait to see Poole back..Daniels should be a lot wiser next year..

you're NOT GETTING IT. these players have media conferences and meetings and training sessions and whatnot. if a member of the media asks them where they want to play next year, THEY'RE GOING TO SAY WHAT TEAM THEY ARE ON. it has nothing to do with what team they are on, it's called being POLITICALLY CORRECT. you can't take what these players say too seriously. you want the truth, listen to terrell owens

I think I've discovered the reason Leinart wanted to stay in college an extra year.

Your avatar! :D

I think they should all stay for 2-3 yrs. They've played well and should continue to play well. Veteran leadership is what this team needs.

Both Traylor and Seau have said things that indicate they don't think they'll be here next year. Carter seems truly excited about staying and being a part of this team for another year or two, and I think both Lance and Holliday would like to be here. Wonder if this is a matter of them knowing things we don't. Why would Seau and Traylor say what they've said without some indication from management that their time here might be done? Either that, or they've not truly "bought in," in which case they should probably go with our sincere thanks for plugging some holes.
