in Run blocking he does a very good job at locking in his pass block i have no idea of yet. He gives a nice push on the line if not a push its at the least no penetration from the D linemen.

in the beg. he has one VERYYYYY NICE block on a pull to the left
 
He doesn't stop, I saw a couple plays in the video where some of the other lineman had given up and Smiley was still going at it with the opposing lineman. The guy can really pull, Im glad he is a Miami Dolphin./
 
We are goin to have one good line running the ball. I hope its the same with Pass prot.
 
is actually a little hard to see who's who with all the traffic at the line and from that angle...I could see him sometimes but other times it was hard to see where he was..regarless he's a good player and I'm looking forward to seeing the line in action

Smiley looks good. Good size, good speed. I watched the same video at the time of his signing and my criticism at the time was that he sure seems to end up on the ground alot.

i agree with you on what you said,and with the addition of Smiley to our line and who we have,i feel our line will be opening holes for our RBs just as good as some of the better running teams in the league,and better within a few years.

Yeah! I've been saying that for awhile now. He and Satele are good at that. Our run game should be awesome this year. It will also help with screens, which is something we've lacked over the last several years and have gotten burnt on too many times.:up:
 
I also saw him some last night on NFLN. They were showing a Cardinals/Bears game from last season, he seems pretty tough.
 
how is cards vs bears related to SF?

dude satele last year ALONE was man handling screens imagine him with some help. look at half the screens, satele was still ahead of RB or near him 30 yards down the field hitting ppl. imagine smiley next to him.

Totally! I remember seeing Satele on those plays and yeah, with some help..
....forget about it....let's pray Ronnie stays healthy this year.:up:

yes, jake long is a top notch run blocking LT and then you add vernon carey and john smiley who are both known to be superb at run blocking...man i'm excited.

also, satele and whoever will be the other two. although satele is penciled in at C, don't be completely sure that it will end that way...who knows, maybe he ends up at LG and mormino ends up starting at C.

just saying, sparano initially stated that smiley was brought in to play at RG, but now he says that he doesn't want 2 rookies playing next to each other on the leftside and is thinking about moving smiley over to LG in order for murphy to play RG...

he says it tentatively. so the best 5 will be starting...never know.
