Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart threw six scoreless innings last night against Oakland.

He struck out five.

It was his fourth big league start at the fresh young age of 22.

After the game, Nick was killed in a car accident.

A man blew thru a red light and struck Adenhart's vehicle and caused him and three others in the vehicle to hit a light pole.

Three of the four people in Adenhart's vehicle died at the scene.

The other motorist sped off and was later caught. He will face felony hit-and-run charges.

This is truly sad. This kid had great potential. It may not mean much but I drafted this kid in my Fantasy Baseball Keeper league three seasons ago in our prospect draft. Like I said, this kid had a ton of potential and endless talent.

MLB has yet to confirm this but it is true.

Story developing...

:(

I just heard this news on my drive to work. Just crazy. So young with a very bright future.
He was scheduled to pitch again here in Seattle next Tuesday for the M's home opener.
Sad day in sports, thoughts and prayers for all of the victim's families.

thats really sad man..RIP, thoughts and prayers to the family

What a great game he pitched only if the game lasted a bit longer those few extra seconds would of been different that sucks so young with lots of potential. He worked so hard to be one of the starting 5 and was the #3 . RIP Nick Adenhart

As far as I'm concerned, they should give the death penalty to any person that kills another human being while driving drunk.

The guy was 22 and already had a prior DUI and was driving on a suspended license. He gonna be charge with DUI, 2x Felony Manslaughter and Murder.

I just seen video footage of the crash. It really just hit me how precious life really is and we mostly take it for granted. The van was destroyed. But what really opened my eyes was Adenhart's car. He drove the same vehicle I drive and it was demolished.

MLB Network just confirmed that all three of the occupants in Adenhart's vehicle are dead. Some drunk meatball driving too fast blowing thru red lights has taken four lives in an instant.

Next time you think your life sucks, take a look at Adenhart's. A 22 year-old up and coming phenom is going to he buried soon for no good reason.

They said his dad was there to see the game last night and a fourth person has died. I hope the drunk ******* that did this rots in hell.

Those Mitsubishi's aren't the best thing to be in during a wreck.

Had his lead blown last night, then was killed shortly thereafter.

Terrible thing.

I just saw the video of the aftermath...its horrible..RIP to all the fallen ones and I hope that driver rots in hell
