If people think that is why he is here then they are wrong. He is a technician and he expects his players to be motivated. Do yo think Bellichek gives rah rah speeches in New England. That type of motivation should come primarily from the players themselves. These are of the highest echelon in paid professions.

And to be honest, I wanted saban here because of his technical skills. The players are in position to make plays and they don't.

The only criticisim that I have is that he tried to salvage wanstedt's core group of players and teach them how consistent execution wins games. He should have cleaned house, or started that process last year. Make moves to get rid of Thomas, Taylor, Chambers, McMichael. Because right now he is losing the prior regimes players and not his own. IF I were him, after 5 year contract if I failed I would want to know that I failed with my own players not the prior regimes.

I agree... play calling i put on coaches.. But cmon. All these guys know all about snap counts. There were taught at the age of 10 how to catch as ball. I see penalties, missed blocks, dropped balls, missed kicks... we could go on.... If i was saban i would be losing my hair. These guys are pro athletes. They are making NFL Europe mistakes.

This team stinks from the top down. If I'm Huizenga, Saban is out . No one will support a loser this bad and Saban's making top dollar along with his multi-million dollar coaching staff. To me it's strictly business. Bada Bing.:tantrum:

I've honestly seen high school football teams play games with 90% less mistakes than the Dolphins.. Forget about Europe.

It's likely that they practice well and choke on Sundays. He's probably losing sleep trying to figure out how to fix that. The answer is to get rid of some of these "stars" in the offseason.

Remember back when the Patriots won their first SB with their 'no name' team? You're exactly right my friend. Time to purge these so called stars. Keep Booker, Welker... and lets get some speed!

Jason Taylor, Channing Crowder, Wes Welker, Yeremiah Bell must stay. Anyone else is expendable. I also think Ronnie Brown would be OK if he had a line and a receiver/QB tandem that could back the defense off a bit. Brown runs hard and plays balls to the wall. Hagan, once he learns to hold onto the ball, is a keeper too. He gets some slack because he's a rookie.

based on the original post...Saban's coaching perspective seems more of a coordinator.

i just don't know what to think right now, it'd be nice to hear something from our other coaches. these guys are definately making ridiculous mistakes on the field, dropped balls, wrong gap, penalties, missed blocks, poor throws, you name something from an execution stand point that has not gone wrong, probably can't cause everything has gone awry at some point this season. we are missing something here and its not easy to pinpoint. thats why i can't just say fire mularkey, or get a d-back, play berger, freakin' everything is off, man what a mess

i wouldnt be suprised if the organization hires a motivational speaker.....H*** we have about every possible coach with like 5 assitants, why not?

Believe me, Nick Saban is probably one of THE most intense coaches in the NFL. Just ask anyone who covers sports in Miami. I'm sure behind the scenes at the training facility he gets plenty angry and yells at people about stuff. I'm sure he doesn't hesitate to tell any player or assistant coach what he's REALLY thinking. He's kind of "politically correct" with the media in his press conferences a lot of the time. He doesn't like to criticize the players publicly too much ... it's like a family ... only HE gets to criticize and yell at them ... behind closed doors back at the training facility.

He's actually been getting a little negative press about him being irritable and testy with the local Miami media. They say he's a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde kind of guy. He's a professional, technician kind of guy like Belichick sometimes and testy and irritable and yelling at people like Jon Gruden other times.

Saban definitely is the kind of coach that wants to build good teams and win championships. He did it at LSU. He'll have his share of success in the NFL eventually if people give him a little breathing room and time. He doesn't have Brady like Belichick does, so he's trying to play the cards he's been dealt as best he can ... and Wanny didn't leave him a very good hand to start with at all. I think he might be a little TOO conservative sometimes with his cards though. In the NFL, you have to be balsy sometimes ... no guts, no glory and all that. Evaluate, evaluate, evaluate ... then you gotta play your cards aggressively like in those ESPN Poker championships.
