Nick Saban vs. Bill Parcells

Ok lets just say we didnt know what saban would do to us and leave us for college football. The question is would you want a great football coach(before we found out) or a hall of fame coach Bill Parcells running the whole organiztion and being able to to whatever he wants to turn this team around. In my opinion i would want a great coach instead of a vp to hopefully bring us to a superbowl but i wouldnt want my coach to be my gm like saban did. Just remember this was BEFORE we knew saban.

honestly, i thought Saban was going to turn us around. But, I've always thought highly of Parcells and probably would've chosen him to lead us to the promised land. It takes college coaches too long to get started in the nfl, if ever....

parcells .. i know his history of turning teams around .. i only thought highly of saban because of all the hype!

dispite people hating saban, he was a great coach. had he had a good GM with him we would of turned it around.

saban is still a douche tho

He did and it was randy. The problem was that Saban acted as the GM even though Randy had the title. Randy has been unfairly tied to Cam. Who do you think set us up for this offseason? It wasn't Ireland. He robbed us of picks when he was in New Orleans and we got Ricky. He robbed the Patriots of picks for Welker. He robbed the Chargers of a pick when we traded them chambers. He cut all the trash Saban hung onto that all of us wanted to see go. He got rid of high cost contracts that weren't worth it. He did a lot of good things and set himself up to have a better offseason this year, but didn't get the chance. Did he make mistakes, yes, but it wasn't his fault that they weren't coached well.

As for the Topic at hand, I would take Parcells for the simple fact that college coaches rarely transfer to the NFL well.

possibly yes. but saban was calling the shots. thats what i meant. he wasnt a great GM, but a great coach imo.

Hmmmm. Good question. If I'm answering before Nick's first season, I would go with Parcells. Proven NFL winner, and a knack for talent evaluation. If I'm answering after Nick's first season, Nick Saban. Going 9-7 after the 4-12 fiasco made me a Saban believer. If only I knew what he was about to do to us...

I can no longer go to that place that lets me think of Saban in a positive light.

But if you think about it, do you want the guy that learned from the guy that learned from Bill Parcells....or do you want Bill Parcells?

Nick Saban was too interested in signing old defensive ends(K.Carter,V.Holliday)instead of younger players who wanted to play in Miami(Plaxico Buruss). That not saying anything bad about Carter or Holliday but I am sure we would have preferred younger playmakers like Buruss!!!!!

we will be amazed when we are finally "rebuilt"
the tuna and some dolphins.
kinda weird huh?

Saban is a great college coach, but a failure in the big leagues. Parcells is a legend.
