I was reading this upon it I found something interesting

Q: Do you know if Nick Saban had anything to do with this deal and did you talk to Nick about Bill [Belichick] prior to coming here?
WW: I think he did. You'd have to ask him to be certain. I think it would only be smart to. Nick and I got along really well. He was a great coach and we respected each other really well, so it all just really worked out.

I'd rather have a second round pick than Wes Welker. No matter how much heart the guy has he was still a #3 receiver, good punt returner and decent kickoff returner. The pick holds more value.

More like we have Saban to thank.

i was about to post the exact same comment...Im thankful for getting a second round pick for a slow short *removed* reciever....I mean i loved the guy but a second is a no brainer..

yes yes we all hate dick satan, but word on another thread is that we could get jackson for a second, so that would be like trading welker (who i love) for jackson and a 7th.

Nick also is Anna Nicoles baby daddy..........................Who cares what nick does. We got a 2nd and 7th rounder for him. I'll miss him but we need to look forward.......draft here we come.
