Nick the Victim?

If its true, it almost sounds like WH was protecting him as opposed to making him the victim. If he were a victim, he would have been taken out of the facility in a stretcher!

I'm amazed at how he's throwing his personnel people under the bus. I mean, if they were no good, it was his own fault. He is the one who had the power to put anyone, anywhere, at any price. It was his damn staff for goodness sake! And the ulitimate decsion on who to pick/sign was his. Can the man just admit that he didn't do a good job and that's why he left?

He's really coming off like a cry baby. Good riddance.

yea that suprsed me too, he basically said that mueller and whoever else is involved in getting players didnt do thier job and he had to coach second rate players that dont fit the system...intersesting but is probly just bs

He demanded full control of every aspect of football operations...he installed his systems and then when they failed, he was critical of the results and pointed fingers like others were to blame.

The victims were the people he let down and especially those he blames for his failure.

His remarks aren't really anything surprising. Those are all things I would expect someone to say who is unwilling or unable to accept accountability for his actions. Blame the agent, the circumstances, etc, etc.; blah, blah, blah. Then it's everyone else's fault he didn't have the players he needed in order to be successful. He's every bit as bad as Bobby Knight in terms of taking ownership for mistakes.

See if that is the case, then I wish WH would have let him come back and face everyone he was quiting on. To me that would be the hardest thing ever. To sit down face to face and say im quiting on you guys prematurely. WH, gave him the easy way out...even though Im sure at the time he wanted Saban out of his sight. Im sure he was disgusted and didnt want him anywhere near his facility.

''In my opinion, it's taken two years of manipulation of contracts, getting rid of guys that were making too much money, getting it off the books for the future, all the bull you've got to go through to get the salary cap down,'' Saban said. ``We've never had a cent.''

:shakeno:

Saban said the team's offensive line situation is improving. He specifically praised tackle Anthony Alabi as a rising star, also saying the team has ``three or four decent offensive linemen.''

:sidelol:

''There's still hope at quarterback if Daunte [Culpepper] can get healthy,''

I wish I knew how to react to this.

''I never know about things like that,'' he said. ``But obviously, if I look back some day and say I miss the NFL, then I surely screwed up.''

No way. No GD way! I do not think it is possible for him to admit he screwed the pooch.

What a pmpous, arrogant jerk. GD I am SO f'ing mad I supported him!

He's every bit as bad as Bobby Knight in terms of taking ownership for mistakes.

Oh, that's SO true.

Great analogy.

BK is one of the great college coaches, but, he's not the Dean.

There is, and will always be, only ONE Dean of college hoops.

The man was class, all the time every time.

''I think it was always my goal to do it,'' Saban said. ``So I was going to have to do it at some point in time. Then you learn about yourself.''

You find out you are a spineless lieing coward who can't face the fans, media, players or staff. You also find out that you can't take responsivility for your actions and instead throw your loyal staff under the bus and say you were the victim.

Nobody is buying it anymore Nick. No one wants to listen to you and, though it took you backstabbing one of the most loyal owners and fanbases in the country to show us, we are glad you and your presence are gone from Miami. Alabama never knew what hit them.

Saban couldn't pinpoint the reason for his inability to succeed in his two seasons of the NFL. But he said miscommunication between the coaching staff and the personnel departments could have been a part of it.

I don't know how to say this, because I don't want to throw anybody under the bus,'' Saban said. ``But the personnel people in the building, that's how you gain an advantage. When you look at the teams that have really good personnel people in the building, that are doing what the coaches want them to do, finding the kind of players the coaches want them to find.

When that doesn't happen, Saban said, you wind up doing double the work.

'They say, `OK, here are the three best guys.' These are the three best guys? None of these guys fit our criteria for what we're looking for,'' Saban said. 'Then you go look at the list, and you say, `Oh here's three guys that have what we want.' So you're never on the same [page]. And you've got to be. You've got to be. You've got to be.''

Wasn't he in charge of everything? So these personnel guys he speaks about he hired thus I'd have to asy if he wants to throw somebody under the bus he should first fling his own A-- under the bus for not being smart enough to hire the right kind of personnel guys.

I'm not a miami fan but I do feel for you Miami fans. This guy wouldn't make a pimple of Belichicks A hole let alone be a clone. He's a liar, a coward, loser and a quitter and for him to sit there and say he's being victimized is a f'n joke. After the poor showing he put forth in mimai your team is going to be much better off with him gone.

Awwww, poor little Nicky Saban, he has been victimized by those terrible Dolphin fans, the media, the players, the coaches, the personnel people, the city of Miami and the State of Florida. And Nicky didn't lie when he said 97 times he was not interested in, did not want and would not take the Alabama job and was not leaving the Dolphins! He just bent the truth a little bit.
