Although i think Saban is going to be an amazing coach and maybe a HOF coach, he has had some weary rookie mistakes so far:

1. Starting Frerrote- he may have been able to take advantage of Denvers awful defense last week on some easy passes. although his stats looked favorable he didnt play as well as it seemed. he had an int which was the worst throw ive seen all year. he under receivers and overthrew them. imo his best pass was the one chambers dropped. during the jet game he looked so bad i would have rather we stole fielder from the jets and made him our qb. he didnt make one pass worthy of talking about, in fact he didnt throw 1 ball into middle from what i remember.his only decent pass was to booker on the left sideline. i really hope saban can admit he screwed up and put feeley in...who atleast can make hard acurate throws and if he makes 1 or 2 bad decissions then so be it, but i would rather have him any day than frerrote.

2. Letting go of surtain and not releasing howard- i dont care how much cap we would had to clear for surtain but howard is an absurdity. everyball thrown was pickable, but instead went for 30 yrd catches. luckily we played the 2nd worst qb in the nfl right after frerrote. i think i have a better arm than sh**ty pennington.

3. His LB blitz packages- i havent seen 2 lb sacks this year.

For the most part saban has done a nice job but needless to say must get the team winning again.

I must say i agree with most of what you said, except with #1...I think it;s too early to judge Frerotte....

I will say that Frerotte looked good against a VERY bad/hurting Denver's secondary and he did ok vs. a mediocre Jets secondary....so which Gus will show up vs. the Panthers???

We need to give him some more games before we judge him.

As far as the Surtain trade goes, I'm begging to think that it may have been a mistake....I mean you draft Roth, but why?? Especially after you picked up Holliday and Carter

One thing with AJ is that I dont think the offense has any confidence in him. Every comintator/writer I heard prior to the season said that behind closed doors everyone thought Gus would start. The way it was reported sounded like they just didnt feel AJ was the guy. I dont know if this is true but I found it intresting.

I must have entered some sort of time vortex or something. Apparently there have been more than two Dolphin games so far this season.

1) Who else was he going to start? Feeley? Sage? Comeone now, Gus game us a chance to win to weeks in a row and we only capitilazed on it once.

2) I dont know about you bout I would have done the same thing. Mabey he should have drafted a CB in round #2 but Poole wasent hurt and it didnt seem like a soft spot. We absolutley had to keep Howard after Poole went down, thats irrelevant.

3) I agree. I wasent impressed last week, at all.

And our alternative to start instead of Frerote was....? Please don't tell me AJ :shakeno: because they guy's signature play is a pick six for the other team. Gus is most familiar w/the new offense. If anybody thinks we can recapture something like the Marino yrs, forget it. And no, no Sage talk either :shakeno: . Listen, Gus is the best option we have right now.

Well, that remains to be seen. Even if Surtain was here, we would not be playing the same press defense as before.

Again, lets see what happens the rest of the yr.

You can't make snap judgements after 2 games. The NFL is a marathon, not a mad dash to the finish. This team will be better later in the yr than they are now. To try to quantify the entire season, Saban's coaching, or a player's performance after 2 games doesn't make sense. So what happens if we beat Carolina and are 2-1 going into the bye? Let's say we beat Buffalo and Ricky comes back, then what? We have to wait and see what happens.

lol, the guy has coached two games in the nfl and already this guy is anointing him a hof coach. now thats funny.

Who exactly is he supposed to start over Frerotte?

whats inane about those comments?just wondering what u think

I think that a QB that throws 43 times and is only intercepted once, on the final drive because he is forced to produce is better than anything we have had for years.

I think the players have been pretty clear on who the QB they trust is, and I think Saban and Linehan have been aswell.

I think replacing a QB that has the guts to go deep, something we havn't been able to do since Dan played here, with a QB that can only throw 6 yards at a time and has a disturbing habit of throwing TD passes to the other team is mildly insane. Especially considering that QB is not only a career backup, but is a backup behind some of the most horrible QBs in the league with the exception of McNabb. We are talking about a guy that was behind Harrington, Detmer, Feeley and now Frerotte and Sage.

I think pulling a QB that was ranked the 5th passer in week one, again something I don't think we have had since Dan, is stupid considering we are running a vertical passing offense.

I think pulling a QB that has played decently considering a horrible o-line, a ton of penalites and dropped passes (Chambers anyone?) is the worst idea I've seen today (and there are plenty of bad ideas on this board).

I think we should be thankful we have a QB that has more TDs than interceptions is a blessing, considering all 3 QBs we started last year had more ints than TDs.

That's why I think your post is inane, and that's just off the top of my head.
