Ok lets be pessimistic for a second here and say ronnie brown gets injured and is out for the season. Who takes over, Travis Minor??? We have no backup RB, is Saban gonna sign one soon, anybody, but im just sayin, a good team has depth. U cnt expect our team to have no injuries next year.

Have you not been reading the reports, Morris has been looking good and he's the same rb who was avg. 4 ypc behind the 04 OL..imagine what he can do behind a OL that knows what it's doing.

:yeahthat: Morris will be just fine behind Ronnie. Especially with Beasley to open up a few holes for him...:2c:

I am tired of seeing these threads. I thought we were done with them because they disapeared for about a month. You can't prepare for injuries. They just happen. If there was 64 players capable of starting in this league then okay, we could go get another RB. Fact is, there isn't enough good running backs to make everyone comfortable with their backup.

Now for the other side. Sammy Morris is a great backup. He can spell Ronnie when he needs a breath and can come in and get tough yards. Sammy looked great last year when Ricky was suspended and looks great in camp right now. Also we get Ricky back next year. Do you expect to sign a guy for just one year who knows he will be out the door next year?

For the last time, WE ARE FINE AT RB! Show Ronnie and Sammy some love!

Dude, we are fine with that position. Morris looked like he bulked up some on the offseason and he looks ready to take that #2 job behind Brown. And don't count out Minor, Harris and Riggs just yet.

Minor is a fine player. When he was unable to produce we also did not have a QB that could throw so they expected the run. You put a normal RB in the game with no QB in the backfield and your RB is not going to produce. Now that we have a weapon at QB it doesn't really matter who is in the backfield. They will produce no matter what.

Watching Sun Sports (Sports Talk Live) right now about Culpepper and they seem optimistic that he will start the opener. Whether he can play 100% or not will not make a difference. The players will be watching him enough to allow the running and passing game to step up.

Playmakers scare defenses. Even if they can't play or don't even play very well, people always over compensate for them and thus make the rest of the offense light up because they are more focused on stopping one or two people instead of the entire offense.

I wonder if Tampa Bay was worried this much when Cadillac was selected.

Morris is a fine RB, he did as well as any RB not named Ricky Williams under that 04 line. Only a RB with Ricky's skills could've gotten more than 1000 yrds with that line, not Edgerrin, not Portis, not Dillon, not Larry Johnson. Also Riggs and Harris are 2 RB's with some potential as well. We're in better shape then 04.

Tampa had Pittman, who was an above-average RB anyways.
