That this team needs WR's. You could argue all day long that Pennington has a noodle arm, or the O-Line(Jake Long) played bad, but the fact remains that the Wide Receiver position needs to be addressed. I don't understand how you acknowledge that WR is a position of need by drafting 2 in the draft. You get what you pay for I guess, why not throw some picks to get a guy like Boldin rather than spend two pics on that position. For some reason this front office has a tight end fetish and loves having a RB stable. This is the formula for success on offense.
Strong Arm QB + Mediocre WR + Solid Running Game= Success. I say this because the deep threat can open up short to intermediate routes and the running game.
Not
Noodle Arm QB + Mediocre WR + Solid Running Game= What we saw last season that won't work this season. The box gets stacked and QB is always under pressure.
Offensively, the players that we have do have do not compliment each other. Ted Ginn's speed is never used to full potential. Ronnie is always the vocal point to stop the offense. Throw Ricky Williams in that mix too. Thus, the Wildcat becomes manageable and the QB is always under pressure.
So our offense lacks a traditional home run play. (except the wildcat).
Solution: Easy, insert Henne. And get a true Number 1 WR. Henne wont have success throwing to Ginn, Bess, Camarillo, Hartline and Fumbleano.
Parcells is from the old school so don't count on that happening until he leaves.

Parcels got stung when Drew Bledsoe did NOT develop into a HOF franchise QB. Atleast what I've read, Parcels will take a guy in the later round and develop him into a good QB. This really goes for all offensive skill guys, the one caveat is Keyshawn Johnson although Keyshawn was head and shoulders better then anybody else in the draft.

That's my opinion.

Reports from people at the game are that our receiver's were open downfield most of the time. Pennington did not look at them because he cannot throw the ball that well. That is why defenses stack the box and constantly rush the passer. You will see alot more of this as the year goes on. Ask any Jets fan, and he will tell you the same. Our receivers are fine, our QB can't get them the ball.

WR is not the problem.. Our recievers get open, they can all catch and they can all run routes.. WR is not the problem.. The main problem this week was our OL, and Fasano.. Remember it could have been 7-7 going into the half with us getting the ball in the 2nd.. it could have easily been 14-7 us after our first 2nd half possession.. Pennington didnt have the best pocket presence on the fumble.. he should have tucked the ball and taken a sack.. But the OL is more to blame than Pennington..

Actually, you can add ronnie to that list, he gave up a sack too

I think a major problem with last nights game was Pennington's inability to read the blitz/pressure and dump it to the flats to Ronnie or Rickey. I mean, just look at the 49ers/Cardinals game. You had the 49ers getting tons of pressure on Warner and so he just dumps it to Hightower to get 10+ yards.

Pennington did not do this and instead threw it away. So I think the problem was not our receivers, but Pennington not adjusting and forcing the defense to cover.
