No Eric Steinbach at afternoon walkthrough

no sense getting too worked up about this scrub as he'll be gone long before the Fins are competitive again. plus his attitude on hard knocks stunk.
 
Oline look real good pass blocking the other night, they need to work on the runblock, but when Reggie was in there they were moving the chains on the ground.
 
i didn't think the oline looked real good...i'm underwhelmed with the guard play off what i saw...artis hicks was on the ground too much and incog will never be a good left guard fit for this scheme
 
I think the line will be fine, it the defense Im worried about, god those guys looked horrible.
 
I didn't see the 1st team truly whiff on passblocking assignments. Just what I saw.
 
I can't believe the run D was so soft... took me aback a bit. That was NOT the case last year and the only starters we lost were Langford and Bell.
 
gary guyton sucked...kevin burnett will play the run a lot better...

we better also protect jonathon martin more when we play for keeps...

koa misis stout at the poa but teams are gonna attack him laterally...and in coverage...downhill at the poa he's by far our stoutest lb
 
The cold tub and cigarette line was a freaking joke, jeez guys lighten up.

That said, he's been average at best. Artis Hcks way ahead of him.
 
derrick shelby i liked what i saw against the run...he stood guys up with his inside arm and flowed laterally clogging things up well...nice udfa find there...looks like he's viewed more as a 2 down rotational run defender though cause they kept pulling him on 3rd down in passing situations...

olivier vernon is showing good strength but he's gonna have to show more hand use and some secondary moves to give us the pass rush we need from him...tackles are gonna anchor on his initial power play if he doesn't...i actually liked what i saw from shelby as far as being stout against the run more than i did vernon

i still keep seeing westerman get off the ball pretty well ...i'm a little baffled as to why he can't be a more consistent pass rusher looks like cause he's got no pass rush polish after the initial burst at the snap...he might get to erect also
 
Olivier Vernon has a problem right now. He's supposed to be a pass rusher. If he's not, he's a worse football player than Derrick Shelby...and that's not a good thing if you're a 3rd round pick and Derrick Shelby is a UDFA.
 
i did see some good run blocking from fasano...the play bush broke both he and pouncey had nice blocks at the 2nd level after bush made the safety miss early
