That was the same thing that Bromell did to Manning a few years back. helmet to chin. He got flagged and fined.

CanadaPhinsFan said:I didn't think there was anythig deserving of a flag on that play. He had a few guys hit him all at once and his head kind of got twisted and hit. It didn't look like anyone intentionally hit him in the head though.
jguig said:I agree it was legal given the circumstances.
That doesn't mean the refs are doing an OK job in general. Game after game there are bad calls.
I was flipping channels during commercials during the game. The Ref actually threw a flag at a Bengals player who was bearing down on Rothlisberger all by himself. He said there was an unabated path to the QB. When the heck is it a penalty to rush the star QB? Then I turn the channel and see other QBs get nailed the same way with no flag. The inconsistency is glaring!

Its helmet to helmet contact with the QB
I didnt think of it till now but yes a flag should have been thrown
CanadaPhinsFan said:It looked like Gus was already on the way down when he was hit with the helmet. Sometimes you can't avaoid it, and in those situations I don't think a penalty is warranted.
LtDan said:It was a completely clean and legal hit. No flag was warranted
That's only two words.Alex22 said:3 words
helmet to helmet

ffphin said:There should have been a flag on that play. Now if that was the NFL's little baby (Mick Vick) that they flag anyone that touches him, it would have warented a flag. But I'm happy there wasn't a flag because that might have changed everything and we might not have came back.
