I was answering to the fact that it was insinuated that it was bad that Ireland did not have a contingency plan against this sort of thing happening. Now, I also said he probably has faults in eyes of people, and I for one think that it's the o-line and the handling of the talent of it. So, to answer another thing posted, there is depth at the oline in the fact that there are bodies available to play at the position, the problem is that the depth is an unknown at this point and the whole talent level of the oline seems to be weak...
As for 'knowing he's a tool', that should have been brought back up to him by his management team that is day to day with the team, aka the coaching staff. In the past he had tendencies for being a dirty player, this does not translate to him being whatever the 'investigation' will make him out to be. So, it's easy with hindsight to say: he should have knows. Real life = no hindsight...
Again, let me say again that I'm not too happy with everything Ireland has done... is he 'below-average' to the league standard of hits and misses? I don't know... however, I know that his oline - talent-wise - is his fault.
