Yay, another "Dolphins are still awful after just one game" thread. Thank GOD someone posted another one because there sure as hell weren't enough before.

How many games like this do they have every year? Its the same story, shoulda/coulda, but that doesn't count. You have to make the play and seal the game. The team fails when that crucial moment comes. NFL games are decided by slim margins a large percentage of the time. The Dolphins have to figure this out and arrive at a place where they can get out of their own way and develop an attitude of refusing to lose.

Defense dominates all game and then on the last drive, needing one stop, they can't get it. Offense looked terrible most of the game and left sooo many plays and points on the field. You guys can't cherry pick a couple nice things you think make some difference and just ignore the final outcome, which is the same result. There are no moral victories in this league. Next week they go to New England. You think they get some kind of credit for 'almost winning' at Seattle?

Gase blew it not taking points in the 1st qtr to tie the game. Special Teams blows a FG try and gets it blocked. Stills with a colossal drop of an easy TD. Tannehill nets one good drive all game, its just not good enough as an overall team effort. I'm done making excuses for this team. Step up and make a play and win a ****ing game when its there to be won.

most bad teams lose a bunch of close games each year, it happens to all of us BUT to play Seattle down to the wire in that building I would take as a positive.

Yeah, ok, they didn't embarrass themselves in Seattle like everyone predicted. At the end of the year when they're sitting at 5-8 or something and out of the playoffs (again) we can reflect about how good we felt that they almost beat Seattle and what could have been...

we'll see where they go from here, if they keep losing games close then it's meaningless but if they start to learn how to close out games you may be able to look back and think differently about it. It stings today but that sting goes away w/ a win on Sunday.

Some of those who expected Miami to lose by a lot of points now see no positives in a game they lost by 2 in the last 30 seconds. Nothings changed. Still teh same miserable low talent team.

The term "moral victory" is being thrown around alot today. Everyone in here would bet the under 8 wins for the season... Everyone thought we would get destroyed... Everyone, at some point posted: "I dont expect a win but I want them to play though and make Seattle earn their W."

And now, alot of people are giving **** to people who realize that winning was a long shot but there are a chunk of positives to take out from that game even though we lost... "moral victories"? I will tell you right now, if you dont like moral victories, you might as well let it go for this season, because this season is all about changing the culture around this team and seeing improvement throughout a season that YOU KNOW will see a fair share of losses....

Very well said....

Adam Gase hasnt even coached a game before. Did you really expect much more then this? Heres to an 8-8 year that we will undoubtedly have

lol, I guess we might finally be ready to be a good team when Tannehill is entering his tenth year in the league. But then we'll need a new QB and that might take another decade to find so... yeah, this is my life.

Why don't you go follow a different team then? Are you legally bound to follow the Dolphins for life?

Here we go, someone chimes in to tell me I'm being mean again and should just go be a fan of another team. You know nothing about me, zero. How long have you been a fan? Where were you during 1-15? Don't presume to know how I care about or follow this team. There is no Dolphins bandwagon, you're a fan or not, period. And because I'm a fan doesn't mean I have to sit here and give them (another) pass for choking away another game they should have won. At some point you have to get ****ing tired of losing. Why don't you take your loser attitude and be a fan of another perennial mediocre team. I want my team to be a winner again and won't accept this bull**** anymore.

I think the biggest difference was that instead of being laughably dominated for the entire game, we had a chance (seemingly) to close the game and failed, which is much more gut-wrenching.

It's like when you were a kid and your parents mention they might get you a dog, and then take you to the puppy store to play with a dog, and then say "ok let's go" without actually getting you a dog. Like a gut punch from wolverine.
