This week the Dolphins play one of the worst defenses in the NFL in the Texans. Houston is rated last in total defense, has given up a whopping 98 points in three games an average of 32 points a game for those of you at home. Also, Mark Brunell set an NFL record for completions this past Sunday against...none other than the Texans defense. Last time I check, Brunell was in the twilight of his career, so there should be no reason why a young guy like Daunte can't torch this pathetic defense for 30 points and three touchdown passes. Brunell finished the game 24-27 for 261 yards and the Skins got 234 yards on the ground on 41 carries...so Ronnie Brown should hit the century mark by half time or third quarter at least. This game should be a blow out and if it is not....then we aren't as good as we think we are, good teams explode on teams that are that bad.
We will find out where we stand after Sunday.

No matter how poorly he plays, there will be excused made. For a non-exhaustive list of excuses see the thread:

Its not Dauntes fault, its not Dauntes fault, it is not Dauntes fault

LOL.

GO PHINS~!

The OL still has to block someone on a consistent basis and the play calling has to be less predictable.

They are playing the Texans for cryin' out loud...and yet, you are already making excuses...get real!

re:

The game will end up closer than most people will think. Why? The Texans have a decent offense (other than the O-Line). I think they could put up some points. I'm relying on RB, but I fear he won't get 20+ touches. If the game's in DC's hand, it'll be within one score.

Right, a primary reason why the team hasn't been executing is labeled by you as an excuse, simply because you don't like having to face the idea that you might be wrong about Culpepper.

Give me a break.

Culpepper has led the fins to one touchdown in the last 8 quarters, that's not cutting it in my book. I watch the Browns game after the Dolphins game and Charlie Frye got the crap beat out of him by a great Ravens defense and played with more heart than Daunte has shown thus far. Culpepper is playing scared, he is protecting his injured leg too much. He has talent, I am not saying he doesn't, he just isn't ready to play, hell all of the announcers notice it...yet some fans here must not listen to the broadcast. If he stinks up the joint again, why not let Joey Harrington show what he can do, that is what he was signed for in the first place.

sorry...the "announcers" are not my primary source of information and i usually disagree with them. In fact one of those announcers just denied he was "smoking"..I disagreed with that too.

Actually, i would say he has thrown only one touchdown pass in 16 quarters (12 regular season and 4 preseason). But I agree with the rest of your post.

That brings up another good point, was anyone here impressed with the play of Daunte Culpepper this pre-season??? I thought he was out played by Harrington and Cleo Lemon for that matter, but I hoped that Daunte would snap out of it....that hasn't been the case.:fire:

It's doesn't cut it in my book that your post is inaccurate. He's led two touchdown drives in the last eight quarters ... In fact, it's two in the last five quarters bud.

Perhaps, but, he's only thrown 1 TD pass in 16 quarters. That's plain horrible. He's on pace for a 4 TD season. Woo hoo!
