Jay%20Cutlelr

Earlier this season while the Miami Dolphins offense was going nowhere and doing nothing the blame for such ineptitude never seemed to fall on Jay Cutler.

And I’m raising my hand because I was chief among those absolving Cutler when receivers were chronic in running wrong patterns (a four-week problem) or dropping passes (a two-week phase) or the protection was sub par (another five- or six-game stretch).

Miami shouldn't even be considering bringing Cutler or even Moore back for next season.

It was clear from day 1 that this signing would end in failure. Bears fans found it hilarious that we signed him.

Such a waste of raw talent all throughout his career.

Nice line from Mando, This was how I felt when we signed him:

Can someone please point me to a steep cliff so I can set myself on fire and dive off

Ditto:
Media colleagues and others in Denver and Chicago laughed at me -- LAUGHED -- when I told them Gase could turn Cutler into a solid starter for the Dolphins this year.

Could have said that 10 games ago Mando

However I don’t think there’s any rookie in this class that you could ask to do all that you did cutler this season and gase knows Moore can’t...

Which is I’m sure why cutler is still a consideration as the 2 deep.

Although with that ego I seriously doubt he’s willing to hold a clip board and take back up money.

cutler is not going to be a quarterback for the dolphins next year....but that doesn't mean you just throw moore in because you need clarfication...

the gase quote on clarification i'm sure meant for basically every position outside of qb....that position is clarified.

it's tannehill's show, and it's just a matter of when do they want to draft a qb. this article doesn't say much other than cutler sucks which is obvious at this point. there were weeks where the team sucked as a whole, but cutler has been just as much a culprit and the star of the suck show as a matter of fact.

minus the patriots game. which was sweet, sweet justice.

Legendary stats:

“This season Cutler has thrown 18 TD passes and 14 interceptions.“

It’s hard to have a TD to INT ratio like that in today’s NFL. You almost have to be trying to suck to pull that off.

I 100% agree with this article, but if we had to do it again I agree with the signing. What else could we do? Go with Matt Moore? He is 0-2 this season. It was August and we lost our starting QB what else could we do? Don’t say Kappernick as there is obviously something larger keeping him out of the NFL. Retroactively I want to draft a QB in the first 3 rounds the past 3 years, so we could have been prepared, but that isn’t real. I’m grateful I root for a team that took a chance trying to be competitive. Cutler sucks, but he was the best option.

I am guilty of everything this writer agreed. After how horrrible he was against Buffalo the truth of Cutler finally broke through my blind hope. Gase isn’t with out blame for this, but since Buffalo I’m more patient with Adam, and he just fell victim to being stuck between a rock and hard place, and was blinded by optimism. Cutler is fools gold, and he fooled most of us fan, countless scouts, and many other coaches.

Only if you had false hopes that the team led by Cutler was going to be a playoff caliber team. The offense has struggled under Cutler but that's what I expeceted it would do with any qb that was available after Tannehill went down. As for the 10 million spent on Cutler, sure it could have rolled over to 2018 but odds are you were going to have to sign a veteran to back up or compete with Moore so you were going to have to spend at least $4 or $5 million on somebody.

As a lifelong Bears and Dolphins fan, I saw this coming from day one, but still thought it was worth the risk. We wouldn't have had a much better record with Moore, but the season would have been a total throwaway from the start...at least with Cutler there was the possibility of a big year.

To be fair to Moore he got the two hardest assignments on the docket - at Balt and at NE.
