Active Roster
I read a lot of posts and tend to agree, that we need to clean house the correct way. I guess I'm posting because I do like what Hickey did this offseason (especially considering the brutality that was the Ireland regime) and can see the potential in Lazor's offense, but are they rare enough NFL minds to go forward with another half measure, or should they be thrown out with the rest of the garbage?
It's hard for me to decide right now because I do believe we need to get rid of Philbin for a variety of reasons, i.e. no fire, players seem ill-prepared, lack of game planning, poor clock/TO management, seems like a poor motivator, seems to lack passion, not quick to make personnel changes (i.e. benching Dallas Thomas), the team at times reflects his terrified/scarred demeanor, and isn't the kind of guy you run through a brick wall for. So after saying all of that, it doesn't seem like any self respecting/egotistical/successful head coaching prospect would be willing to keep pieces of a phased out regime.
Do you throw everyone out with the bathwater, or try another half measure and preserve a few of the better football minds on our current staff? I'm at a loss, don't know which I'd prefer. I will say, I always hate seeing our castaways succeed elsewhere....like an extra twist of the knife, we'll probably see Hickey be successful in another city, but on the opposite side of the coin, I know we cannot continue with half measures.
