While Bill Parcels was in Dallas, was there ever a SEC player ever selected in their drafts? Because if there was, I sure don't remember or they were selected in the very late rounds. The first draft after Bill Parcels left, the first player Dallas selected was from the SEC, Felix Jones from Arkansas. You see, that last year in which the dolphins were closest to the playoffs was the 2005-2006 year when they finished 9-7. In that year, Nick Saban was head coach. Also in that year, the dolphins selected three players from the SEC: Ronnie Brown, Channing Crowder, and Travis Daniels. Those three players ended up being starters. The next year, they selected Jason Allen who didn't do well in his rookie year, but showed he can do it at safety in his sophomore year. Now, Bill Parcels is the VP. Even if Ireland and Sparano wanted a SEC player, would he allow one to be picked? I'm not saying SEC talent is better than any other conference's talent, but I'm just saying some good talent does come out of the SEC and it certainly doesn't hurt to pick out of the SEC. It didn't hurt them in the past. It got them close to the playoffs. But anyway, with this front office, will it be years before I see the Miami Dolphins select a SEC player in the draft?

During Parcells time in Dallas (2003-06), they drafted 8 players from the SEC.
2006 Skylar Green, LSU
2005 Marcus Spears, LSU Kevin Burnett, Tennessee and Jay Ratliff, Auburn
2004 Stephen Peterman, LSU and Bruce Thorton, Georgia
2003 Jason Whitten, Tennessee and Bradie James, LSU

I'm pretty sure the big tuna doesnt care what conference the player played in, just if he can play period.

If you look up and down every NFL roster, the SEC dominates in quantity of players and quality of players (meaning starters). The SEC is followed by the ACC, then the Big 11.

I highly doubt Parcells is over-looking the conference on purpose.
