..the best player on our team is Jake Long, and he has yet to play. I don't understand the panic. Teams will obviously play us completely differently once he's back. I understand that the right side should be a concern, and while i'm not entirely sure what the solution is there, Jake Long changes the ENTIRE dynamic. And we need to give Lydon Murtha a break...he isn't starter quality. A solid back up..he is what he is.

Jake Long, Incognito, Pouncey, Carey, Colombo...that's a big, strong, mean offensive line.

With Fasano helping out on the right side and Clay being able to catch passes, Clay at FB can break out and run a route while Fasano stays in to help. This, in theory, could be extremely productive. Teams can't possibly deal with Colombo's size WITH Fasano helping him. This is one of the big reasons I love Clay, it allows Fasano to block and aid in the running game, with teams having to account for Clay's abilities, abilities that Lousaka lacks.

My 2 cents..

It is worriesome because the inside running game was TERRIBLE last year. Whatever strides we end up making there due to Pouncey over Berger, we may lose in pass protection coming from the right side. Carey played bad last night, Colombo is not worth mentioning . . . I hated the signing then, and I hate it now. Incognito and Pouncey have been decent, still prefer Incognito on the right side. I can understand Murtha, he is still getting used to LT, and I could see him on the right side.

Seriously Long/Pouncey/Ohara/Incognito/Carey . . . that should be the line.

im not in a panic mode either.... however i welcome any additional competition at the rg or rt side.

Jake Long can't block everyone. Jake Long doesn't play on the RIGHT SIDE!!

Panic!

We cant wait till next years draft to get our next RT................TRADE NOW.

I honestly do not see the Dolphins entering the Patriots game with Long-Incognito-Pouncey-Carey-Colombo as the starting offensive line. I think one if not two adjustments will be made. I would not mess with Long at LT, Incognito at LG and Pouncey at C. I would consider moving Carey back to RT and bringing in someone like Shaun O'hara, Brian Waters, Leonard Davis or Andre Gurode to be the RG.

The line is a concern, but I don't think it is a disaster or not fixable. It is late in the game and not ideal, but there is still time to at least try and fix the problems.

Inside running game was terrible because our center was terrible. When they switched Incognito to center did you notice how much push we MAGICALLY got inside ? The kid only practiced there for a week and still made a difference.

Turn page to 2011 so what do you do ? Put Pouncey in the middle and we still have a center THAT CANNOT CONTROL THE POINT OF ATTACK, period, end of story. People can imagine what they see in him all they want, reality is, this kid cannot move anyone that is the same size or bigger then him. You control the point of attack and you control the LOS. Yeah Jake is great but he is not in the center of the Oline. Fact is we have 2 out of 3 ellements, ( Pouncey and Carey ) who cannot move a fat lady in a mid puddle eating a hero sandwich.

We have a couple trade chips. Moore or Wallace could be moved to a team that needs a WR. Merling of course could be moved via trade. Hell if its a quality player even Starks could be moved.

We need a RT or RG and whoever we get Carey will play the other position. Doesn't make the unit good, just better than it is currently. Marc Colombo blows! Jon Jerry is worse!

We do have some trade chips, and the new couple of days are typically the time when teams make moves.

I will say this. If Sparano keeps Colombo then he is a total idiot. Chad Henne will end up on I.R. if Colombo remains the starting right tackle.

I could definitely see us make a trade or signing in the next few days. I would be shocked if we didn't.

Ah, but Marc Colombo was the starting right tackle for Tony Sparano when he was the amazingly good offensive line coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

Sparano was a good offensive line coach, right? You mean maybe he wasn't? ;)

Ireland better be working the phones today. Our o-line is in dire straights and needs an upgrade now!!!!

They got handled last night, Jake or no Jake, they got handled. Carey was terrible, both tackles let pressure in all night. Incognito and Pouncey weren't good either, just better than those 3. The whole line sucked. Not sure how long they can afford to wait in hopes of it gelling. Pouncey still snapping high, Incognito still can't move well.

smh at this oline

it is absolutely maddening that they can't get the O-line fixed. I never really thought of Sparano as a "guru" just because he was the o-line coach in Dallas. he has experience but it seems like there should be a success story somewhere down the line to be a guru. even so, I just don't understand why they can't get this unit right, it can't be this tough.
I would really like to hear why they think Carey and Colombo are good enough to be starting in the NFL.
