actually thought they were trying to do that when we heard merling was on the trading block, I figured we'd get a starting rg or rt out of it.
 
I think we have struggled to run the ball for the last 3 years. We had to use the Wildcat to get any type of a running game going. I have major concerns with all the shuffling. Right now I would decide on 5 guys and stay with them. Jake needs to get back on the field.

Starters
Long - Incognito - Pouncey - Carey - Garner

Reserves
Murtha - Colombo - and any G/T's waived from the Steelers/Jets/Ravens/Patriots

Jerry,Berger, and the rest are all garbage.
 
Vernon Carey's play has really fallen off. I hope like hell this is the last year we have that bum on our team. He is a bloated turnstile who can't move.

I completely agree. I see the same with this oline.
 
I just loved watching John Jerry tippy toeing around last night. He looked like the circus fat lady trying to ballerina dance. The guy is a complete joke. He acted like he was afraid to even try to hit anyone.
 
Sign Guorde, move Pouncey to LG, all problems will be fixed on the LEFT side.

Icognito is trash no matter where you put him, Carey blows, Coloumbo :bobdole:

I just don't know what there gonna do.
 
I'm with you on this one, not panick time yet, but I did get a little nervous when the Bengals slapped around the Panthers D Thursday night.....Tampa has a very good Defense and are going to make plays but we did leave points on the field for the 2nd straight preseason game......Once Jake comes back and Carey and Columbo are 100% coming off of offseason surgeries and get some playing time with each other I expect this OL to be a top 10 by week 6.....

Yup, trade Merling or Will Allen for a competent offensive lineman. I'm down for that. But do it quickly...this unit needs to be allowed time to gel..
 
I'm in panic mode and here's why: Carey and Colombo are garbage, they could not keep their man out of the backfield the whole game. Carey looked worse than John Jerry last year and that's BAD. I don't know what the solution is, but it sure as hell doesn't involve Carey OR Colombo...

Unless Jake Long can play Left Tackle, Right Guard and Right Tackle all at the same time, I'm panicking!

at this point they won't gel till week 5 or so. Already too late for that. Just know they can't run this same bunch out there again. That won't work.

this is how i see it except berger sticks around because backup center is important at this point. Instead of Garner though, they may go with Murtha and let Garner be ready to step in at any spot since that is his forte.

bottom line: this was tampa's dress rehersal and they still sucked if you think about the other foot. they have played terrible. they were bringing heat cus they wanted to win at home.

But regardless, Columbo is just a backup if even on this team. Garner or Murtha will be RT. Now going to be looking at Sparano with gut check.
