No need to panic re: o-line..

Yup, trade Merling or Will Allen for a competent offensive lineman. I'm down for that. But do it quickly...this unit needs to be allowed time to gel..
neither player brings a starting OL in trade at this point. I mean really who trades a starting Olineman for a dissapointing DE or a possibly cut coming off of injury cb that is getting up there in age.

at this point they won't gel till week 5 or so. Already too late for that. Just know they can't run this same bunch out there again. That won't work.

preseason is weird. offseason is weird. not sure if players thinking they are locked up and no worries. Columbo seems to be that way and jerry....well go float down the nile jerry.

I see no worries in sense of long getting back but worries about replacements linger again. I like the idea of bringing in Waters. Move Carey back to RT.

I'm in panic mode and here's why: Carey and Colombo are garbage, they could not keep their man out of the backfield the whole game. Carey looked worse than John Jerry last year and that's BAD. I don't know what the solution is, but it sure as hell doesn't involve Carey OR Colombo...

Unless Jake Long can play Left Tackle, Right Guard and Right Tackle all at the same time, I'm panicking!

well, i will watch tonight to see if this is indeed so. I will be looking to see is it they are just playing vanilla *** lazy or what? I have heard Pounceys name as well so stop-rewind-replay a lot.

But maybe you can get a backup OL who can come in and start here. Compared to signing waiver wire trash like Columbo and just giving him the starting RT spot.

Whys there any talk of gurode....hes still a cowboy?

Andre Gurode was held out of the Cowboys game for fear he would be injured. He most certainly will be cut if they cant trade him (unlikely due to his 12m/2yr salary). He has been outperformed by Phil Costa and although he has bad knees I think he will be an upgrade at C/G here.

Tackle is an even bigger problem.

Bottom line is that Colombo, Carey, and Murtha cannot play.

I will ask u would u give up any player that is good for a dissapointing dlineman and a player like allen who has been injured and seems to have regressed. Why would any team do that

..the best player on our team is Jake Long, and he has yet to play. I don't understand the panic. Teams will obviously play us completely differently once he's back. I understand that the right side should be a concern, and while i'm not entirely sure what the solution is there, Jake Long changes the ENTIRE dynamic. And we need to give Lydon Murtha a break...he isn't starter quality. A solid back up..he is what he is.

Jake Long, Incognito, Pouncey, Carey, Colombo...that's a big, strong, mean offensive line.

With Fasano helping out on the right side and Clay being able to catch passes, Clay at FB can break out and run a route while Fasano stays in to help. This, in theory, could be extremely productive. Teams can't possibly deal with Colombo's size WITH Fasano helping him. This is one of the big reasons I love Clay, it allows Fasano to block and aid in the running game, with teams having to account for Clay's abilities, abilities that Lousaka lacks.

My 2 cents..

take the blinders off this oline is terrible and isn't getting any better...same for our runners..thomas=wasted pick! and columbo stinks plain and simple dallas saw that. it isn't just the right side the entire line stinks...yea jake is going to make one position better thats it.

my nickle!

Your O-line is never suppose to play this badly in their third pre-season game. We should be very concern with the collective group. I saw decent individual plays at times, but as a group, they need to the wake the **** up fast.

I agree w/you in that our o-line is in pretty bad shape, and when we get Long back the play at LT will undoubtedly improve. And I agree that that alone won't necessarily fix the lingering issues we've had with the o-line...but to say the runners are terrible and that Thomas was a wasted pick is somewhat ridiculous considering what they have to run behind.

we're not going to trade for anyone with the sep3 roster cutdown coming up. we'll see who shakes loose, and then and only then will we make a trade, sign o'hara etc.

Yes, Jake is the best player on our team and arguably the best at his position in the league, but there is a HUGE drop off in talent on the OL from Jake to the next guy. Then you got guys like Jerry and Columbo on the team, who are just worthless. The right side of the line completely sucks.

I say just clone Jake Long and make him play all the O-line positions.

If O'Hara is in the cards, I think you sign him immediately. Get him one preseason game to get his feet wet.
