Ok, we all know Pennington can not throw the deep ball but, if they throw Henne in there it would just be last year all over again. You cant through a rookie in there, i dont care whats happening anywhere else. Henne will be damaged goods if he gets thrown in this year and maybe even next.

So are rookies like Matt Ryan and Joe Flacco damaged goods then too??

well flaccos current TD/INT ratio is 2/7, and one of those tds was to our putrid secondary, so flacco is not a good basis for your argument.

In fact, before yesterdays game Baltimore fans were calling for troy smith to come in. Just to add some perspective. Theres always another guy who isn't playing that fans think can do better than the guy who is.

Pennington needs to remain the starter till at least week 12 after that maybe Henne should get some playing time.... we don't need to destroy the future trying to salvage today. in the offseason let henne battle (and hopefully win) the quarterback job

Henne needs to come in for a few plays or mop up duty definitely, but in retrospect, Ryan beat out the likes of Chris Redmond, hosed the Falcons for an unbelievable contract for a 3rd pick and almost had to be inserted in hope to put pro-Vick butts back in the seats. Flacco wouldn't have started had not Boller and then Smith not gone done. So both of those were circumstantial that at this point look like they'll work out. We have the luxury of Pennington, realistically no right to assume we're playoff-quality with all the holes we've got and should not throw Henne into the fire as a kneejerk reaction to another loss - especially to one of the most formidible D's in the league.

With all that being said, Henne still needs to get reps so he is ready to take over next year with at least some experience under his belt and not an entire year of just standing on the sidelines

I'm of the opinion we should "NEVER EVER" under any condition play Henne! That way he can never become damaged goods.

This brings me to another point, imagine for a second how good Marino would have been if Shula wouldn't have brought him in during his rookie season...

Henne is terrible and I hope we never have to play him. We need to continue the search for a real QB.

If his psychie is that fragile, he's not an nfl qb. Those qbs who started early and busted were probably going to bust sooner or later.

No.....Henne DOES NOT need to get the reps. NOt this year. You want to win SO bad, you can't see the big picture! You could DESTROY Henne by throwing him in there with this supporting cast. I would not start Henne at ALL this year. It is just NOT a smart move. Flacco and Ryan are not going to the playoffs either this year.

I think, come near end of year, and we have not reinserted ourselves to the playoff race....then why not start Henne. He would have had plenty of time to learn from the most accurate QB in NFL history. Maybe he can form himself into a Chad Pennington and a Flacco(arm strength aspect of him at least) at the same time. Smart accurate desicion making and a strong arm to get the ball there quickly.

I liked what I have seen of Henne so far but we will see what Parcells and company have planned for the upcoming years. I don't think Beck is the Future and it is way too soon to suggest that Henne is. Time will tell.

See this is the main problem with our team right here! Why is it other teams can start their rookie quarterbacks and be successful but we can't? I think our offensive line is fine and Henne should have no problem starting the rest of the season. I am really tired of fans giving excuses to why we can't play Henne.

The reason why it didn't work for Beck last year is because he sucked! Plain and simple, the guy does not have what it takes to play in the NFL.

No more excuses, its time to play Henne. I think we need to find out this year if this is the guy for the future. Because its obvious that Chad is not the guy!

our OL and running game is improved compared to last year. i'm not in favor of throwing in Henne, but we could keep him upright and take some pressure off of him by running the ball effectively.

What's the difference of him starting next year or now. Holding a clipboard does not help.... I think we need to see what we got with CH....
