I love this guy and I have for the past three years. He's one of the most effective blitzers from the safety position I've seen. Next to Palomalu, I can't think of a better blitzer from the safety position. His first step is unbelievably explosive; he maneuvers through/around defenders effortlessly. An example: early in the 3rd qtr, Bell blitzes from the defensive left side, explodes right past the inside of the TE, then continues around Laurence Maroney to get in Brady's face just as he's done dropping back. That's a double-team that he just beat effortlessy. He's been doing this stuff quietly for the past 3 years now, and improving more and more.

Almost just as impressive is that he seems to drop back in coverage just as effectively, at least in in-game situations where his number is called. Earlier in the game, on third down again, Bell lined up on the defensive right side makes it look like he's gonna blitz. Brady, before the snap points him out, Bell backs up a bit, and covers Ben Watson one on one like glue, then breaks up the pass.

We've been seeing this from Bell for now the 3rd year in a row. I can't wait to see more of him as the year progesses. I love this guy.

As I'm watching the game.... EVERY TIME THIS GUY BLITZES, HE"S IN THE BACKFIELD IN A SPLIT SECOND...:dolphins: I love it

TOTALLY AGREE...AND I DONT KNOW WHY BELL ISNT STARTING...TILLMAN IS A JOKE. HE CAN BARELY COVER, MOST OF THE TIME HE IS GETTING BEAT..TACKLES OK BUT BELL NEEDS TO START

Not that our main problems lie in our defense, (b/c I would argue they lie in our O-line), but one of our problems on defense is that when we blitz, the linebackers fail to get in the backfield. But whenever Bell blitzes, he seems to get in the backfield all the time. What we need (besides O-line help) is some LB's who are true blitzers... To make up for our lack of this, I think Bell should be playing on almost every snap, and practically every time we blitz, I think we should send Bell b/c of how effective he is. He's much more effective than Zach or Channing or Spragan.

Bottom line, Bell souhld get more playing time, we need to improve our blitzing, and a given, we need to improve our O-line. I really don't think this team is that far away from being a contender, and I'm not ready to give up on this year either.

Y.Bell is playing at a very high level, i saw one play where he blitzed Tom Brady and almost hit him right before he threw to Ben Watson, about 10 yds down field, and lo and behold guess who ends up making the tackle, YEP Y. BELL. He is a monster @ blitzing.

Easily our best blitzer. If he was even a little bit better in coverage, I'd want him in over Tillman...hell I kinda want him in over Tillman now. Tillman is probably the worst player on the Miami starting defense.

Yeremiah Bell was in on several plays yesterday, the guy has a motor. Not just blitzing either he made some tackles, not sure how many, but I know he stopped a couple of guys ... The Announcers called his name on many occasion. I like this kind of player he sets an example for the team and he fits right in with Saban's D.

Bell had a great game sunday. If the whole team played like him we would have crushed them.
