no tds in opening drive means you can’t come out and execute what you’ve been practicing all week.. how could anyone support gase or anyone in this regime, that is about as definitive a stat as you can have

There are more stats that are definitive... Like our horrible 3rd down conversion rate while Gase has been coach... And our falling behind early in the 1st quarter every game during his tenure.
In his defense though, we had a problem scoring on the first drive since before Gase.

Philbin's offense was the same way, and it's no coincidence that both Gase and Philbin prefer a finesse offense based on short passes. It's been 7 years of basically the same ineffective offense.

You could tell Gase really wanted to put an end to that long long trend of starting games slowly with them electing to receive the opening kickoff and going for it early on 4th down the second drive. The end results were predictable as always.
