blue got drafted...i didnt see if the kid wilder did or not from flo state...he's awfully upright and lacks speed

Honestly, all you need is a serviceable back behind a good line. Why waste picks on getting a back unless they are really special? Fix the line first = job one.
 
I'm cool with it, if Moreno works out we resign him. If not we draft one next year, next year's crop is supposed to be pretty good.
 
On 3rd and 1, Knowshon Moreno will be the RB. No need to telegraph what we're going to do. Maybe run Moreno up the middle. Maybe play action, and Moreno will pass block. Maybe play action, and have Moreno go out for a pass.

At the snap, the defense has to protect against a run up the middle. A half second later, the defense has to cover the entire field against Wallace, Hartline, Gibson/Matthews/Landry, Clay, Moreno, while also worrying about Tannehill scrambling for a 1st down.

(Of course, the defense only faces uncertainty if we get rid of the "go-go" cadence).
 
yea, bring this fool back but for some reason we felt the need to replace Gibson, using a second rounder to do so.

Hyde should of been our pick. And to add insult to injury, he was taken with our traded pick.

Hyde is what we needed. Would take a S off coverage. We could have gotten a WR later. Two chances at him and two trades went down instead. Hyde will be a beast in SF.
 
Lol why would you need another back on 3rd down??? We have Moreno that is actually an above average blocker and can run routes well with good hands for a RB.
 
Did you see Moreno run last year? That boy fights for every inch and gets extra yards on every play
 
Was disappointed when we traded out of Stankey and then Hyde.. although Landry was an uplifting "consolation prize." Either way, we need a fresh infusion in the backfield cuz #26 ranked rushing game, won't cut it - or even with the OL and TE blocking upgrades, anything even remotely resembling that.

My initial reaction was that Phickey fellt that the offensive line radical suckage and lack of a blocking TE were more to blame than Thomas or Miller and that Moreno is more dependable to get those hard yards and to provide the backfield blocking that was non existent last season. I dunno about that personally :idk:

What I do know however, is that even an effective running game that overcomes something this awful, is still the equivalent of pizzing into the wind.

People said Lacy will be a beast, Richardson, Blount, Ingram, etc.....and the teams with these guys didn't do squat.

Although I would have loved to get Hyde, not having him isn't going to make us win or lose anymore games.

Sad, but running backs are now just a dime a dozen.
