The Miami Dolphins did not run one wildcat play during the preseason.

Don't you find that a bit interesting on the bizarre side?

Why not run a few plays and see what defenses have come up with to stop it? Why not run a few plays to see if we're still up to speed?

Very interesting...

The question is now, will Miami wait until a game is on the line to release the wildcat? Will it be part of a normal game package? Will it only be used to either make the playoffs, or used during the playoffs?

Man, it is weird that they never ran it. Wow...

Disclaimer: During some of the games, especially the TB game, I was lulled into a deep sleep, so I may have missed seeing a wildcat play or two.

There are articles of game two that included "Wild Cat" in them all over. I was at the game and saw the reverse flea flicker pass to Patrick Cobbs for 35 yards. The Wild Cat was alive!

Yeah...Carolina...fast asleep during parts of the game.

LOL! :D

That's what happens when you get old. Be warned all you youngsters out there!!!

there were only a few b/c they didn't want the opposing teams to see anything they could plan for when it comes time to play them during the regular season - and the rest of the league for that matter. our offensive play calling was the same thing over and over again for mainly that reason - with a trick or two every now and again. we want to keep them guessing - which we couldn't do if we pulled out all the stops in the preseason. would've still liked to see some deeper passes - but not a huge deal.

All 4 of those exhibition game teams are on our regular season schedule. Why help them out?

We ran a lot more wildcat than I ever thought we would run in the preseason against Carolina.

I'm sure it's been worked in practice. We didn't see a glimmer of the wildcat last year until it was unleashed on the Pats, but you had better believe they practiced it. In other words, it doesnt take a preseason game to perfect something.

Yea we worked some of the old plays, probably ran ronnie up the middle two or three times. One or two ricky sweeps, and the pass from the Texans game last year. Nothing new yet.
