Contrary to a February 2 report in the Boston Herald, former Patriots videotape assistant Matt Walsh does not have film of the Rams' Super Bowl XXXVI walkthrough.

Walsh gave the NFL eight videos of opponents' coaches from 2000-2002. The tapes show the Patriots videotaping opposing signals in five regular season games and the the 2002 AFC Championship. Walsh's attorney says his client never claimed to have a tape of the Rams' walkthrough and was not the "unnamed source" in the Herald's story. The NFL knew about all this, and says this is consistent with what the Patriots told them. Any further punishment isn't happening. May. 7 - 9:33 pm et

WTF!!!!!!!! this is so unfair.... this is from rotoworld.com.. it is sayin that if they dont have the tape of the superbowl game vs rams then they dont get any futher punishment... thats bull if you ask me.. what about all the other games they just got caught cheating in? WHAT ABOUT THE AFC CHAMP GAME... that could of changed the whole superbowl.. this is bull.. im so pissed if they dont get screwed for this.. the NFL is a buisness and this is ILLEAGAL!!!!!!!!!!! :shakeno:

Start a petition and send it to Goddell.

hell yeah man.. but i bet spector will be pissed about this.. he brought the whole spygate back into light.. i think he will take it into federal law because he is a steelers fan due to being a senator from pitt and they have a tape of that game

maybe they didnt know about the eight tapes and were just referring to the rams tape. thats what it sounds like to me.

Doesn’t matter really

The NFL helped encourage the assumption that the pats taping was an isolated incident. Now that we know for sure that it was during their entire dynasty. Everything they have done and everything they will do

Is tainted

And this harms the NFL more than they can imagine

That's funny. You tape several teams over the course of 8 years (likely more than what's reported but that should be enough for a harsh penalty) and you only lose a single draft pick and get fined some money, which is basicly peanuts to the organization and the coach anyway. I smell payoff, and I smell dirty commish.

Just send a PM to Myles Fynch.

I'm pretty sure that's Roger Goodell's username here.

Crude oil is at $123/gallon, but let's have congress put the Pats on trial for videotaping a walkthrough. I really hate that our Government is getting involved in this petty crap!!

its also a buisness.. just like any other.. it deserves attention.. its not like it will take the entire gov to deal with.. it goes to court just like any other case.. easy man this is a football forum not a politics

I like your proactive isolationist sentiment, but you should probably do further research into why the government has a stake in this. Antitrust exemptions should be your primary stop on your fact-finding mission.
